Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Missing: Mr. Birdie Quest Guide

By
Shane Williams

Missing: Mr. Birdie is a quest that’ll become available in North Corel during chapter 9 of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It’ll require you to lay some traps in order to track down a missing bird for the local children. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to finding the "Bird Trap" iconBird Trap Transmuter Chip and defeating the "Gigant Bomb" iconGigant Bomb.

Mr. Birdie likes Barrett.

Mr. Birdie didn’t come home for dinner, and no one knows where he is! We’re worried something bad might’ve happened to him. Can anyone help us find him? Please?

Starting the Missing: Mr. Birdie Side Quest

The Missing: Mr. Birdie Side Quest will become available once you’ve got access to the southern portion of the "Corel Region" iconCorel Region in Chapter 9. Accept the quest via the noticeboard in North Corel and then speak with the nearby group of kids and they’ll provide you with the locations of some bird traps. However, you need to obtain the Bird Trap Transmuter Chip before you can craft these.

Planting the Bird Traps

You can obtain the Bird Trap Transmuter Chip by completing Excavation Intel 2: Desert Village. If this isn’t showing up on your map, then you need to do the Expedition Intel first. Once the chip has been acquired you’ll need to craft some bird traps by using "Sage" iconSage, "Mist Seeds" iconMist Seeds, and "Marjoram" iconMarjoram and these items can be typically found near the traps themselves. Once you’ve laid all three traps, return to them in the order they’ve been placed to see if you’ve had any results.

(1 of 2) Head to the three marked locations

Head to the three marked locations (left), and plant the bird traps. (right)

The first one will have "Cyclone Drake" iconCyclone Drakes swarming it, so quickly take them down by keeping your distance and hitting them with "Wind" iconWind-based Spells. The second one will contain "Cactrot" iconCactrot’s which can be easily taken by using Triple Slash and finally the third will contain the missing birdie in question. However, you’ll need to destroy the Gigant "Bomb" iconBomb first and this can be done by striking it with ice-based spells from a distance until it self-destructs. With the enemies out of the way, return to North Corel to bring the quest to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 9k+ XP and a "Level Boost Materia" iconLevel Boost Materia.
