Level Boost Materia Guide - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

By
Shane Williams

There are lots of Materia to track down in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and they all offer unique abilities, such as the Level Boost which allows you to increase the level of any linked materia by one. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to find a "Level Boost Materia" iconLevel Boost Materia and how to use it.

The Level Boost Materia can be purchased from Chadley or the Moogle Emporium.

Level Boost Materia Location in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

There are multiple ways of obtaining the Level Boost Materia and the earliest point you can get your hands on it is in the Mako Measurement Facility - 1F at the start of the game (unfortunately you’ll lose this after the flashback). You’ll ideally want more than one and you can acquire some more by purchasing it from the one and only Chadley in the "Junon Region" iconJunon Region in Chapter 4. However, this will require points and you can get your hands on these by completing World Intel Activities. There is also another Level Boost Materia up for grabs at the Moogle Emporium once it reaches level 5.

How to Use the Level Boost Materia in FF7 Rebirth

Once you’ve obtained a Level Boost Materia, head on over to the Materia & Equipment Option in the menu and then you want to place it in a linked slot, as this will level any Materia placed directly next to it by one. So, this is useful if there’s a Materia you would like to be rank two or three for their skills and it requires a large quantity of AP before you can use it, then you can skip the leveling process by placing a Level Boost Materia next to it.

Best Level Boost Materia Uses

You’ll spend a lot of time leveling Materia in the first half of the game, so you’ll want to use the Level Boost Materia to temporarily strengthen specific elemental Materia to make it stronger for certain battles as you’ll be able to deal more damage to their elemental weaknesses. If you’re wondering what Materia you should combine with the Level Boost, then check out the list below:

  • Fire and Ice Materia + Level Boost Materia
  • Healing Materia + Level Boost Materia
  • Magic Efficiency Materia + Level Boost Materia
  • Warding + Level Boost Materia
  • Elemental + Level Boost Materia
  • "Enemy Skill Materia" iconEnemy Skill Materia + Level Boost Materia
  • First Strike + Level Boost Materia
