Steal Materia Guide - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

By
Shane Williams

There are lots of Materia to track down in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and they all offer something unique, such as the "Steal Materia" iconSteal Materia which allows you to steal items from your opponent. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to find a Steal Materia and how to use it.

Steal Materia can be purchased from Item Vendors or Vending Machines.

Steal Materia Location in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

It’s not completely obvious how you get your hands on the Steal Materia in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but there are a couple of ways you can obtain it early on in your adventure. You can purchase it from the Items Vendor which can be found on the eastern side of "Kalm" iconKalm for 500 Gil or you can check out any of the vending machines which are scattered around the open world and these have a chance to be on offer for as low as a 100 Gil. Additionally, when Yuffie joins the party later in the game she’ll come equipped with a Steal Materia.

How to Use the Steal Materia in FF7 Rebirth

You’ll now want to equip the Steal Materia via the Materia & Equipment Option in the menu and then when you’re in battle target your opponent and select the command in order to steal their items. However, we recommend that you use the Assess ability beforehand to see what items are up for grabs. Leveling the Steal Materia which can be done by following our Leveling Materia Fast guide will unlock the Mug Ability which is a slightly improved version of Steal as it’ll allow you to attack the enemy and fill your ATB gauge while stealing the items at the same time.
