Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Bodybuilders in a Bind Quest Guide

Shane Williams

Bodybuilders in a Bind is a side quest that takes place in chapter 6 of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It’ll require you to assist Jules with clearing out some fiends that have been roaming around the gym. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to defeat the enemies and how to beat the Crunch-Off against Amina.

Jules has some unwanted guests.

It’s time to muscle maximize-or at least it was, until a bunch of fiends showed up and started scaring our members. Even the most passionate builder would struggle to get into a rhythm with those things hanging around, so we need an able-bodied merc to come save the day-and our gains.

How to Start the Bodybuilders in a Bind Side Quest - FFVII Rebirth

The Bodybuilders in a Bind Quest can be unlocked via the noticeboard which is located in "Costa Del Sol" iconCosta Del Sol. However, you’ll need to be at least level 26 before you can tackle this quest, so we recommend that you spend some time completing the World Intel Activities around the "Corel Region" iconCorel Region to boost your level a little. Additionally, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the strongest weapon available for your party at this stage of the game.

Defeat the Fiends near the Training Gym

Once you’ve accepted the Bodybuilders in a Bind Side Quest, you’ll want to pay a visit to Jules at his gym which is located to the northwest of the Seashell Coast Tower. He’ll mention that some enemies have been causing havoc around the gym and it’s disturbing his customers’ workouts, so he requests that you clear them out. There are four groups of enemies which you can find to the northeast, west, southwest, and east of the gym.

You’ll typically be fighting "Citripinefish" iconCitripinefish in this mission which are flying enemies, so we recommend that you play Barret and use his "Focused Shot" iconFocused Shot and Maximum "Fury" iconFury Skills to take them down. Alternatively, you can hit their weakness with "Ice" iconIce Spells which will pressure them, and then you can use Cloud’s "Focused Thrust" iconFocused Thrust to stagger them.

Best Way to Complete the Crunch-Off: Warm-Up

After you’ve managed to clear out all of the enemies, return to Jules in the gym and you’ll have to partake in a sit-up competition against Amina. To do this, you’ll need to press the buttons in the order shown on screen, but the buttons will temporally disappear from your screen, so you’ll need to pay attention to Tifa’s movement to get your timing right. You’ll sometimes see one of the buttons glow yellow which means you’ll need to rapidly press the button. Amina will get a top score of around 16 so you’ll need at least 17 to win.
