With the successful capture of von Bergow at Maleshov following the end of Dancing with the Devil, the gang returns to Suchdol to discuss next steps on disrupting Sigismund’s influence. Keep reading to learn how to complete the Oratores main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and see Rosa’s romance scene.

Ride to Suchdol to Join the Others¶

The quest will begin as you find yourself in the aftermath of Maleshov, remember to loot the bodies around here for items to sell or equip, and then, when you’re ready, make way for Suchdol and speak to Zizka. If you’ve come straight from Maleshov, you’ll need to go rest in your bed for the night to trigger a scene, and then speak to Zizka the next morning to kick off a meeting with your capture, von Bergow.

You’ll get a few choices here as Henry on how you want this to play out, but ultimately, they won’t impact the outcome of this little chat with von Bergow, and that is that Sigismund is running out of coin to pay his soldiers, perfect time then to go and steal from the royal court it seems! Regardless of how you choose, Henry will be tasked with heading back to Ruthard palace alongside Rosa.

Escort Lady Rosa to Ruthard Palace¶

When you’re ready to get the ball rolling, go and find Rosa and tell her you’re ready to go to have the two of you fast travel back to Kuttenberg. If you’re looking to romance her here, be sure to choose favorable responses such as “Don’t worry, I’ll be with you.”. You’ll now need to follow her through the linear tunnels until you reach a part where the water level is higher than expected.

When Rosa turns to you, reply with “So what?” followed by “Alright, I’ll carry you.” to agree to carry her through the water. Face her and pick her up like you would any other body, then walk forward, putting her down once you’re through the water on the other side, then follow her to reach Ruthard Palace.

Get Rid of the Lowlifes in Ruthard Palace¶

You’ll quickly discover that beggars and bandits have overrun Ruthard Palace after everything that has happened lately, so Rosa requests for Henry to deal with them while she hides in her bedroom with her crossbow, sounds like a good plan. Despite this area crawling with enemies, they’re fortunately very lightly equipped and won’t take much to kill with a fully equipped Henry at this stage of the game.

If you’re struggling here, you can consider luring the enemies down the stairs so you can fight them one-by-one, but it really shouldn’t be necessary. If you’ve been keeping your weapons up to date, a few strikes should be enough to kill each enemy. Once the final beggar falls, use Quick Reply to answer Rosa and you’ll learn there are more of them inside, with one trying to break into her room. Head upstairs and into the palace to dispatch the remaining soldiers and let Rosa know the coast is clear.

Rosa’s Romance Scene¶

If you’ve been working on trying to obtain Rosa’s romance scene throughout the game, now is your chance to obtain it, provided you did the following up to this point:

• Completed the missable Rosa’s Book Task during the Taking French Leave main quest.
• Chose to solve the negotiation at the end of Dancing with the Devil without suggesting to torch the tower with her in it.
• Chose favorable choices and let your intent be clear to her whenever the situation arose.

At this point, go back to the courtyard and wash up to make yourself a bit more presentable and then head into Rosa’s room and talk to her. You must then choose the following responses:

• “It’ll all be alright”
• “Allies are our most valuable asset”
• “I won’t let you go away!”
• “Kiss Rosa”

At this point, Henry will spend the night with Rosa and wake up the next morning. If you wasn’t successful in triggering her romance, you’ll instead have to go downstairs and spend the night alone. In the next morning, speak with Zizka and choose all of the choices to learn your next objective.

Get Vavak’s Help with the Silver Theft and Royal Treasury Key Location¶

You should have already been to Vavak’s house once before, during the Via Argentum main quest, but if you’ve forgotten, head northwest a little from Ruthard Palace to reach the objective marker. You’ll want to enter from the back (Easy lock) rather than the front (Very Hard lock) to get inside and make your way upstairs to find Christian of Pisek instead of Vavak.

It appears that Vavak has already flown the coup, so his help is out of the question, leaving you to deal with Christian. How this plays out will be dependent on how to finished Via Argentum, if you were favorable to him and helped him take over Vavak’s operation, he’ll owe you one and agree to help you, but will not take the fall should anything go wrong. The following choices should work:

• “I’m the one asking questions here.”
• “Where is Vavak?”
• “Did Vavak take his key with him?”
• “I’ll only tell you the bare essentials”
• “You’ll become the new mint master”
• “The church council meeting will distract them from the theft”
• “No one here knows Italian”

Christian will agree to help you and hand over a Scribbled letter that gives a hint of where the key may be. Head back out the back door and look at the privy in the corner, unfortunately, you’ll find the key inside. It’s a good idea to pay the Baths a visit after this, as your clothes will become dirty and, once you’re ready to continue, return to Zizka with the key.

Exhaust all of the dialogue choices here and Zizka will send you to Rosa to learn about the underground passages. Following this, find Samuel in the Palace and get him to come along with you as you explore the tunnels.

Explore the Underground Passage with Samuel¶

You’ll be taking Samuel’s lead for this section, so after speaking to him, follow him through the kitchen, down the spiral stairs, and down the ladder to reach the underground passage. Along the way, Samuel will mention about some good being left down here, if you’re able to, pick the lock of this Hard difficulty chest to loot a Fox, Weak Saviour Schnapps, and The Rule of St. Dismas IV, a skill book that raises your Thievery skill.

Eventually, you’ll have to deal with a few Beggars, while you can simply cut them down, it’s much easier to talk to them and tell them they can leave via Ruthard Palace. Follow Samuel a bit further into the passage and you’ll reach the target room where you need to find the spot to dig. Samuel will try a few spots out, but the place you’re looking for is on the eastern wall, go over to it and interact with it to mark the spot. All you need to do now is follow Samuel out of the passage and back into the Palace, where you will need to report your findings to Zizka, as thanks, he’ll hand over 175 Groschen.

You’ll begin discussing the steps on how to ambush the cardinal and then, after optionally speaking to Godwin, talk to Dry Devil and tell him you’re ready to go to Loretz, if it’s not the desired time, you can pass it here with him, where multiple scenes will take place until you regain control.

Don’t Let the Cardinal Flee¶

The proposed plan fails rather spectacularly and the Cardinal and a few of his soldiers will ride away on their horses. As soon as you gain control, ride as fast as you can while following the horses in front. You won’t be able to catch them, but you do need to keep pace at least until a scene takes over. You’ll unlock the Martyr Achievement/Trophy at the end of this event as you have the choice to return with Zizka back to Ruthard Palace to get Godwin ready to play his part.

Once you’ve made the decision, be sure to make some last minute preparations and stock up on supplies as it will become harder to do this later. Consider brewing or purchasing a lot of Marigold decoctions and Saviour Schnapps, make sure you have food to eat, and you have various kits to repair your gear. Once you step through the door to the courtyard, you’re locked into main quests until the ending.

Learn Basics of Italian from Brabant¶

Before you can set off for the Italian Court, you must first learn some basic phrases from Brabant. Find him in the dining room and then repeat his phrases back to him, if you can’t remember what he said, the phrases are as follows:

• Buona sera, signori - Good evening, gentlemen
• Molte grazie! - Thank you very much
• Scusi! Mi sono perso - Excuse me, I am lost
• Fatta la legge, trovato l’inganno - Every law has a loophole
• O mangi la minestra o salti dalla finestra - Eat the soup, or jump out the window
• Sei proprio un baccalá - You are a real salted cod!

Once you’re done with Brabant, pay Rosa a visit and then loot the chest in her room to get your clothes, then finish the quest by speaking to Godwin, dress in red garb and sitting outside in the courtyard. This will end Oratores and automatically start The Italian Job.
