Last Rites is the very first main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. It’ll require you play as Godwin and attempt do defend the castle. Read on to find out where you need to go, and what you get for completing the quest.

Defeat the Front Ramparts!¶
Once you first gain control of Godwin, head up the stairs directly ahead of you and take out any enemies approaching the castle via the crossbow. It’s fairly tricky to hit enemies with the crossbow without practice so don’t be disheartened if you keep missing your shots, but we recommend that you try and aim slightly above the soldiers head for the drop off.
Help Defend The Gate in The Courtyard¶
Unfortunately, they’re still getting dangerously close to entering the castle so head back down the stairs and shoot the enemies through the holes in the gate until there isn’t left (for now) and then follow Dry Devil up to the wall to the southwest. You’ll now want to approach the ladder and push it down, but you may encounter some battles before you reach it.

You can attack your opponent by pressing R2/RT/Left Click or guard by pressing L2/LT/Right Click. The easiest way to beat your opponent is by waiting until you see a small green shield icon and guarding and then quickly striking afterwards, but you’ll want to avoid attacking too many times otherwise you’ll exhaust all of your stamina and you’ll become an easy target.
Once you’ve pushed down the ladder, a fairly lengthy cutscene will play out which will involve you setting off on an adventure with Hans Capon and the Last Rites Quest will come to a close and the Easy Riders Main Quest will begin!
