In Vino Veritas is a Side Quest that can be found within the Kuttenberg Region, and can be accessed once you’ve completed The Sword and the Quill Main Quest. Read on to find out where you need to go and what you get for completing the quest.

Starting In Vino Veritas¶

Head to Kuttenberg and speak with Casper Rudolf who can be found standing outside of his cart near the city’s western entrance and you’ll learn that his wine selling business hasn’t been going well because a competitor has a secret ingredient. If you want to learn what the ingredient is, then you’re gonna need to get a gentleman named Rudolf Havel to like you, but before you approach him we recommend brushing up on your wine knowledge which can be done by acquiring a certain book.

Study Casper’s Book on Vine¶

Make your way over to the Garden which is located in the southwest portion of Kuttenberg and you’ll notice that a man named Hugo (Adleta’s Brother) is standing guard and you’ll need to convince him to let you through which can be done by saying: “I’d like to go into the gardens” and “(try to win his favour)“. He’ll temporarily leave his post which will provide you with the perfect opportunity to speak with Adleta who can be found sitting on the nearby bench.

If you want to convince her to part ways with the book, then you’re going to want to choose the following dialogue options: “His business is in trouble”, “Are you even interested in books on wine”, “I can recommend some other books”. Once you’ve obtained the book, open up your inventory and read through Sir Bushek’s vintner wisdom and then it’s time to finally prepare for your meeting.

Make an Impression on Havel the Tavern Keeper¶

Havel won’t speak with you if you’re clothing is covered in blood, so we recommend visiting the nearby tailor and purchasing some noble clothing (similar to what you wore in the Wedding Crashers) and you’ll want to make sure your Charisma Level is at least 15+ otherwise he’ll refuse to speak with you. Once you’re fully prepared, head to his tavern and select the following options during your taste testing session and he’ll slip up the secret ingredient.

• That is a very fine gift
• Avignon
• It’s missing ginger
• Truly an odd menu

You’ll be able to get through this little taste test by selecting the options above and passing at least one or two speech checks. Head back over to Casper once you’ve acquired information on the secret ingredient and he’ll reward you with 55 Groschen and then you’ll be tasked with breaking into the vineyard and stealing some.

Get Hired at the Vineyard¶

Head over to the Vineyard’s entrance (north of Kuttenberg) and speak with the Recruiter outside to get hired and then speak with Administrator Jerome to learn more about the role. Enter the building to the right of where Jerome is standing and you’ll find a locked door on the left which will require you to lockpick it (medium difficulty). If you haven’t had much experience with lockpicking yet, then all you need to do is adjust the ball until it begins to glow and then slowly rotate the lock while keeping the ball in the glowing position.

In Vino Veritas Quest Rewards¶

Upon entering the room, open the chest in the corner and grab the Sulphur Wicks and then you’ll want to return to Casper and hand over the goods to bring the quest to a close and netting yourself 425 Groschen.
