The world is full of temptations at the best of times, and Henry’s life hasn’t been easy since entering Trosky. Despite being a good Christian, Henry has likely had to make moral compromises just to survive, much less recover what he lost following the bandit ambush near Rocktower Pond. Suffice to say, doing some penance may be necessary for the salvation of Henry’s soul, and if you can’t be bothered to pay indulgences, a good, cheap pilgrimage may just do the trick. This page will cover the repeatable free form quest
Pilgrimage in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!
Page Breakdown¶
Starting Pilgrimage¶
To start this quest you’ll need to complete the main quests Wedding Crashers and For Whom the Bell Tolls, during which you’ll encounter Father Nicodemus in Castle Trosky. Once you’ve saved Hans from himself (again) and have mostly free run of Castle Trosky, find Father Nicodemus (he can often be found in the chapel atop the castle’s easternmost tower) and talk to him to undertake a pilgrimage, starting this quest.

Penitent One Achievement - Completing Pilgrimages¶
The Pilgrimage quests are a bit unusual in that they’re repeatable (much like the More Melee at the Mill quests), and while they won’t earn you any coin, completing these pilgrimages will improve your reputation. To sin is human, but to have the moral clarity to express contrition and the strength of will to stave off perdition through labors is universally admirable. Simply put, undertaking pilgrimages will improve your reputation. If your worldly self needs more reasons to do these freeform quests, you’ll get the Penitent One achievement when you complete your first pilgrimage and the task also counts towards Been There, Done That.
As for the actual substance of each Pilgrimage quest, there’s not a whole lot going on. After expressing your desire to improve your reputation through pilgrimage, he’ll send you off to a random shrine in the region. This can be quite a ways away from Castle Trosky, but the objective itself is simple enough - travel to the marked shrine and pray there. Whatever adventures you get distracted by on your way there is not strictly part of any Pilgrimage quest, but in some cases trudging off on a pilgrimage is a good way to discover new points of interest and explore the region.

Find the shrine and pray at it to complete the pilgrimage, and the first time you do so you’ll earn the aforementioned Penitent One achievement as well as gain some lore entries on Pilgrimages,
Prayers and
Priests. You can start a new Pilgrimage quest by returning to Father Nicodemus at any time, although the only gains you’ll get is the reputation boost.
