Starting the Hush, My Darling… Quest¶
You won’t gain access to the Kuttenberg region until you’ve progressed the main story a fair bit, it’s not until you complete the Storm quest that you’ll reach Kuttenberg for the first time, and then you’ll be locked into the introductory main quests of this region before you can jump on your horse and explore it.
Once you can venture out on your own, you’ll want to head to the village of Miskowitz, located right in the center of the region, lying in between both Suchdol and Kuttenberg. To reach it, start at either location and go east/west along the main road and you can’t miss it. After entering the village, make your way over to the local
Blacksmith who can be found on the east side of town and enter the house to find his wife. After speaking with her, you’ll learn she’s looking for someone who can make some Horseshoes for the soldiers up at Sigismund’s
Camp.
(1 of 2) Make your way to Miskowitz, located between Kuttenberg and Suchdol.

Bring Martha Two Sets of Horseshoes¶
Fortunately, Henry’s background as a Blacksmith comes in use here, as he’ll opt to create them himself and bring them back to her. Leave the house and pay the Smithy a visit nearby, but before you do anything, speak to the Blacksmith himself and inform him of the situation, eventually getting him to agree to let you forge them in his place. Additionally, you can have him provide the materials by saying “**What about the materials?”**, which is a Medium difficulty Craftsmanship speech check.
Once you’re ready, make use of the smithy here and forge the Horseshoes, these are the easiest crafts in the game, so they shouldn’t cause you too many problems creating, just remember to hit the metal evenly, rather than focusing on one position. Once the task is complete, return to his wife and hand them over. As thanks, you’ll receive 60 Groschens and she’ll ask if you can hand them over to Victoria to deliver them to the camp. Leave the house, cross the stream, and enter Victoria’s house, then enter the room on the left to find a pool of blood, looks like something has happened to Victoria!
(1 of 2) Forge the horseshoes and then return to the Blacksmith’s wife.

Find Out What Happened to Victoria¶
It’s clear to see something went down in Victoria’s house, so the best place to start would be by paying a visit to Martha and letting her know what’s happened. Ask her about both options, about how she makes her living and who would be bothered to get some leads, the first of which can be found in this very village. You’ll find Farmer Kuba at the
Tavern during the day, usually, and after exhausting all of the options, you’ll most likely end up in a brawl with him. Fortunately, a single punch is enough to end it, at which point he’ll give you some more information on the soldier from the camp.
Ask about Victoria in Sigismund’s Camp¶
You won’t have to go too far to locate the camp, it’s situated on the hill to the northwest of Miskowitz, just remember to tell the soldiers at the gate that you’re hear from the Miskowitz Blacksmith to deliver some horseshoes and you’ll gain entry.
After speaking to any of the soldiers here about Victoria, they’ll all point you in the same direction, the camp’s Blacksmith. Go north when you can and follow the path here until you see the Blacksmith on your left. When you first ask him about Victoria, he won’t know too much, but press him on the subject and he’ll eventually reveal she took a fancy to Black, a soldier from the camp who’s currently holed up at the field infirmary.
(1 of 2) Once you get in Sigismund’s Camp, head to the Blacksmith.
Once you get in Sigismund’s Camp, head to the Blacksmith. (left), Speak with him to learn that a Soldier named Black has met with her many times. (right)
Find the Soldier¶
You’ll find the soldier, Black, in the field infirmary as the Blacksmith mentioned, so head back to the south, near the western entrance and look in the tents on the east side to find it, and Black, on one of the beds. You’re not going to get much out of him in this state though, so you can attempt to diagnose him by asking him some questions and eventually come to the conclusion that he needs a Digestive Potion, simple enough, especially if you’ve dabbled in a fair bit of
Alchemy yourself.
Once he’s had the potion, Black will be a bit more forthcoming, and, after revealing what’s happened to Victoria, he’ll shed some light on the situation. What’s just a bit of fun for Black has become something more serious for Victoria, and she’s not taking news of this very well. Once he gives you a location to check, you’ll be presented with a choice, deliver the rather cruel message Black has for her, or force him to be a man and take responsibility, this is important if you’re going for the Trophy/Achievement (see the notebox below)
(1 of 3) Find Black at the infirmary.
Find Victoria!¶
You’ll need to head to the location in the forest to the east of the camp as quickly as you can, before Victoria will do something to herself that she can’t come back from. Leave the camp via the eastern exit and head into the woods, making your way to the area that Black mentioned (where the quest objective is), if you’ve not taken too long, you’ll find her there contemplating, if she’s dead, you were too late and the quest will end.
Speak with her to learn the truth behind this whole mystery, that she tried to harm herself when she realized she was with child, and upon seeing the blood, too flight and came here to ponder what to do next. At this point, you’re given a few choices with how to settle this, one being by playing matchmaker and convincing the pair to get together (see the note box above).
(1 of 2) Don’t spend too long making your way to Victoria’s location or you may find her dead.
Don’t spend too long making your way to Victoria’s location or you may find her dead. (left), If you convince her to forget about Black, you can choose where she should go next. (right)
Alternatively, and perhaps morally, convince her that Black is not worth her attention or time and that she should move on. You’ll then need to help her decide what to do next, ask Martha for help or perhaps heading off to Devil’s Den and finding work there. There’s no right answer here, only what you feel is the best outcome for her, but if you do send her off to Devil’s Den, you’ll find her there after a few days.
