If you’re a thiefy sort, it’s just good practice to stash your loot somewhere. It may incline your partners in crime to keep you alive in some capacity, and if you get nicked by the guards, they won’t be able to seize your ill-gotten gains, leaving some hope of recovery if you ever escape the clink. Unfortunately, if the guards get ahold of the treasure map you made, this may end up as its own form of currency for the less ethical sort of gaoler… this page will help you find the treasure marked on the Caught Thief’s Map in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Page Breakdown¶
How to find the Caught Thief’s Map¶
To get this treasure map you’ll need to advance the main questline in Trosky a bit. Complete the main quests Wedding Crashers and For Whom the Bell Tolls and you’ll have free run of Trosky Castle. Use this newfound freedom to find the combat arena along the western edge of the castle grounds, where one
Black Bartosch can usually be found standing around. Talk to him and challenge him to a game of dice and he’ll offer up a thief’s map he has in his possession - agree and defeat Black Bartosch and you’ll obtain the Caught Thief’s Map.
(1 of 3) Once you can explore Castle Trosky, find Black Bartosch to a game of dice and he’ll offer up a map as a wager.
Find the Treasure at the Thief’s Camp¶
Give the map a gander and you’ll see it marks something of interest (that’s usually what those red X’s mean, right?) east of a village named Suchdol. Whomever wrote this map was literate! What a treat! Didn’t help their drawing or geography skills one bit, however. Of more use is the doodle of a fortification in the bottom left of the map, and since Trosky has only two such features, this narrows down our search considerably - given the nearby geography this fortress clearly refers to
Nebakov Fortress, which means the nearby village must be the “
Nebakov Mill” on the map.
(1 of 3) You want to make your way to the “Thief’s Camp” point of interest,
Fast travel there, then follow a road east into the woods. You can follow another path up northwest when you reach it, but your goal is to work your way around some cliffs and ascend uphill to the east of Nebakov Mill, where you’ll find a “Thief’s
Camp” point of interest in the forest. Kill the lone bandit here (he may be well armed and armored, but if you’re sneaky you can catch him unawares!) then search southeast of a cookpot to find a locked chest (hard). Pick it and you’ll get at the treasure within, containing an Engraved Gemstone Ring, a Weak
Marigold Potion, 4x Frankfurt
Steel, 328 groschen and 2x
Bandages. Not a bad haul for a game of dice and a bit of searching!
