Divine Messenger is a main quest in the Trosky region of Kingdom Come Deliverance II. This quest is unique as you won’t be playing as Henry due to story reasons, and you’ll take up the role of a washed-up priest who is close to Henry, Radzig, and Hanush. Read on to find out what happened to Henry and Lord Capon, and what you need to do to find them.

Divine Messenger puts you in the hands of a washed-up priest, Godwin

Where to Find the Escaped Prisoners

You are playing as the banished priest, Godwin, and you are in the village of Zhelejov to look for the missing Henry and Lord Capon. After you tell the Innkeeper whom you are looking for, he will immediately know who you are talking about and tell you about the massacre that occurred outside Nebakov early that morning. The reason he knows this is because, Anna and Kuba from the Nebakov Mill saw it all happen before they escaped.

You’ll find Anna and Kuba in the barn to the left of the tavern. Head inside and you’ll find them on the floor with Kuba not looking in the best shape. Speak to Anna and she’ll tell you about the massacred that happened in the Nebakov ravine. As they tried to leave, Kuba was hit by a stray arrow, hence his injury right now. The important piece of information is that they took some captives.

Ask them some questions and when you mention Henry and Lord Capon’s names, they’ll tell you they are the captives, but they were hanged. When questioned further, they’re not entirely sure that Henry and Lord Capon were hanged, just that some of the captives was hanged. You’ll get further information on who the captors are, but nothing concrete. Before you go, Anna will ask if you can bless Kuba before you go. Agree to her request and then leave the barn.

(1 of 2) You can find Kuba and Anna in the barn next to the tavern.

Nebakov Ravine

Exit Zhelejov, get on your horse, and make your way southeast to the site of the massacre. Walk along the trail, and Godwin will recreate the scene while you walk through it. Eventually, you’ll encounter a bunch of bandits looting the corpses. They’re not the nicest people around, but you can tell them that you’re looking for your friends as well as ask the what happened, but as you could imagine, they’re not too helpful. Before you go, you can either stop them looting or let them be. Let them go for now, you’ll see them again soon enough.

(1 of 3) From Zheljov, head southeast to find the ravine.

Continue along the trail and you’ll soon reach a guard who will stop you. You’ll ask the guard if you can speak to the commander and he’ll agree to take you to him. Here, you’ll meet Erik, and you can ask him a couple of questions. When you explain to him who you’re looking for, he’ll tell you that the captain took some prisoners with him, so he could be there. Just as you’re negotiating with Erik, the bandits/looters from earlier will pick a fight.

Erik proposes that you help him defeat the bandits, and he’ll take you to the prisoners. It’s not like you have a choice here, so be prepared for a bloody battle. There are seven bandits to take care off, and the best way to deal with this battle is to get behind one of the bandits already in a fight with Erik’s men and attack him from behind. If you have the Battle Cry Perk, use it often to replenish your stamina quicker. Repeat this until they’re all dead, and then speak to Erik.

(1 of 3) Look familiar? The bandits from earlier will attack you and Erik.

Nebakov Castle

Follow Erik, jump on your horse, and start following him. As you get closer, Erik will ask if you ride as well as you fight and propose a race to the castle. The outcome won’t change anything, and odds are, your horse won’t be enough to beat him anyway. When you reach the castle, you’ll get a short scene, where you’ll meet the captain. Before he talks to you, he tells Erik that he’s found quite a lot about him and Istvan from Lord Capon, and tells him to wait for him at the tower.

Shortly after, you’ll have a few timed choices to make. The outcome doesn’t matter in terms of progression or rewards, but the dialogue will change depending on how you respond. There isn’t a right or wrong option, so choose what you like. As you start negotiating with the captain, things take a turn for the worse for the captain as a rebellion begins. He tells you that if you help him, he’ll release Henry and Lord Capon.

Defeat the Rebels and Defend Nebakov

You’ll agree to his proposal, and you’ll regain control. Head through the doorway to the northwest and follow the path down, where you’ll find a small skirmish. Like the bandit battle earlier, focus your attacks on enemies already in combat with the captain’s men, and attack them from behind. Before long, the battle will be over and you’ll have a short scene with the captain. Apparently, the stuff that he wanted to talk to Erik about was that he was told by Lord Capon that they are spies for von Bergow. You’ll ask him where Erik is now, and he realizes the captives are in trouble.

You’ll get a flashback from Henry’s point of view about his time as a captive. Here, you’ll be able to question Istvan Toth as Henry, and if you’ve played the first game, you’ll realize that this is a pretty big thing as Henry has wanted revenge on Toth for stealing his father’s sword. There is no bearing on what you ask him outside of information, so choose whatever tickles your fancy.

Erik will release Toth and then to Henry’s surprise, Godwin will come in. You’ll see the get away, and then all of you will have a chat. You’ll find out who the captain is, and Godwin will find out what happened up until this point. When you get the chance, explain to the captain the Jobst is on your side, and ask him a few questions. If you ask him how Semine got involved, he’ll ask what happened there. You’ll tell him how it went down, and then ask the captain what are you going to do now. Godwin will clean out the captain’s festered eye, and the quest will come to a conclusion, and you’ll immediately get the Finger of God quest.
