Blacksmith Zdminir challenges you to forge a Competition Hunting Sword.

Starting the Hammer and Tongs Task¶

Head over to Grund which is located to the east of Horschan and speak with Blacksmith Zdminir and say “I hear you’ve got a handy apprentice” and “I expected more” then agree to his challenge which will require you to forge a weapon that outshines his apprentices work.

You’ll now want to forge a Competition Hunting Sword and Zdminir has kindly given you the materials needed for it so we recommend creating a new save so you can reload should you mess up. Interact with the furnace and build up the temperature of the workpiece until it’s a bright straw yellow color, then head over to the Anvil and hit the workpiece with the hammer while making sure there is a large spark and you’ll want to slightly move it each time

Hammer and Tongs Task Rewards¶

Once you’ve successfully forged the Competition Hunting Sword, head back over to Zdminir and show him your work to bring the quest to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 200 Groschen. If you want to keep the weapon then say Do you really want to try me? while speaking with Scholar Matthias.
