Badges can be used to modify dice games in various ways, including by giving rerolls, multiplying the score of certain combos, changing the values of rolled dice, starting you out with points, and so on. You can buy, find, steal and, most importantly, win badges, but to get the Shiny achievement you’ll need to win a gold badge in a game of dice. This page will discuss how to unlock this achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!

Dice Game Preparations¶
Before we get caught up on the whole “gold badge” thing, first we should talk about winning dice games in general, as it doesn’t matter if you’re properly prepared and set up to win a gold badge if you can’t win a game of dice reliably! Simply put, to deal with the cheating AI, you’ll need to cheat yourself - their dice aren’t uniform for a reason, and it’s because they’re using special dice. You have access to most of the same dice, and if you can get your own loaded dice, you’ll make winning at dice much easier.
The best dice in the game are Weighted Dice, which can be found in a cave near an enemy camp along the western edge of
Rocktower Pond. Kill or sneak past the bandits there (this is the camp you set up during the prologue, before being attacked) into the cave and pick the locked (easy) chest to find a Weighted Dice. This will respawn every couple of days, and you should return here regularly as you quest your way through the
Trosky region - even a couple of Weighted Dice can drastically improve your odds. For more information, check out the Best Dice guide page.

Winning a Gold Badge at the Semine Wedding¶
The earliest and arguably easiest way to win a gold badge is during the main quest Wedding Crashers, where you can optionally engage in a dice tournament. Once you’re in the wedding, talk to Bailiff Thrush in the stables and he’ll tell you about said tournament, tasking you with defeating several other players:
- Radovan the
Blacksmith
- Emmerich the
Apothecary
- Ulrich the Chamberlain
If you win, you get their tin badge. You lose, you drink. Get too drunk and… well, don’t get too drunk. If you have Hair o’ the Dog potion you can remove drunkeness and significantly lower the stakes of losing. Note that you’ll be progression-gated by the main quest, so you’ll have to play an opponent until you win, then advance the main quest a bit until you get a new main quest objective, then you can talk to and play another challenge, and so on, until all three are defeated. Emmerich doesn’t have his badge anymore, so you don’t actually have to beat him, just tell Thrush what Emmerich told you, and defeat Thrush… only to find out he already lost the gold badge you’re supposed to be playing for! This forces you to challenge Betty the Innkeeper for the badge, and if you completed Invaders and pass a medium Speech check she’ll agree to play you, otherwise she’ll only play if you wager 200 groschen a round. Defeat Innkeeper Better and you’ll win the Gold Wedding Badge and unlock this trophy.

Winning a Gold Badge from Random Players¶
If you don’t win a gold badge at the Semine Wedding, this achievement becomes trickier, but you can still win gold badges from various dice players. Unfortunately most of these players are in
Kuttenberg, so you’ll likely have to advance the main questline a bit further, although it’s worth noting that Spots at the
Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn has two gold badges you can win.
The problem with winning a gold badge outside of the Lower Semine Wedding is it’s potentially a lot more work. To play for a badge you must have a badge, and you can either steal gold badges (dice players may have them) or buy them from Innkeepers. This is much more common in the Kuttenberg region, as Spots (near the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn) is the only dice player we’re aware of in Trosky with gold badges you can win or steal. Once you have a gold badge, talk to a player and pick the option to play ”With a badge.” then pick the type of game you wish to play - Spots only goes up to “Kings” (180 groschen) and you may need to wait until Kuttenberg to play a player with the funds to wager up to “Emperor” (300 groschen wager). To summarize:
- Buy or steal a gold badge (any type, as long as it’s gold)
- Find a dice player willing to wager “Emperor” (300 groschen) stakes
- If you can’t find a player capable of playing those stakes, wait until another player is at the table or, worse case scenario, try when you’re in Kuttenberg
- Win said dice game
(1 of 2) Wager a gold badge and play a high-stakes game of dice,
Wager a gold badge and play a high-stakes game of dice, (left), and defeat your opponent to win their gold badge - you may have to wait until Kuttenberg to find players and badges sufficient to earn this achievement. (right)
Having to get your own gold badge and potentially waiting until Kuttenberg is a bit of a bummer, not to mention finding a dice player who will play a game of “Emperor”-tier dice with you. At the Kuttenberg wedding, you didn’t have to fuss around with getting your own badge, or finding the right dice players, and everybody played a relatively low-stakes 1,500 point game of dice, but do what you need to do to get this achievement - it shouldn’t be missable at any point in the game.
