"The Magic Arrow" iconThe Magic Arrow is a side quest in the "Kuttenberg region" iconKuttenberg region in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. You start the quest by speaking to Pasha inside the "Devil's Den" iconDevil’s Den in the north of the region. He wants you to help get an arrow back from the head of his bandit friend who was recently killed. He think that the arrow has magic powers and he wants it for himself.

Where To Start The Quest

If you head to Devil’s Den during the day, Pasha should be sat at a table inside. Speak to him and he’ll tell you the story of Karel the bandit and how he died.

He believes that the arrow that’s lodged in Karel’s head is magic and was keeping him alive/. He’d been living with an arrow in his head for years, and it was making him stronger.

With Karel dead, Pasha wants the magic arrow for himself, but he doesn’t explain exactly what he wants it for.

Finding Karel’s Grave

Your first task is to get the arrow from Karel’s head by digging up his grave. Before you can do that, you need to find out where he’s buried. To do that, you need to ask the gravedigger.

Be sure to tell the gravedigger you’re going for the heart.

Now, head to the monastery just north of "Kuttenberg" iconKuttenberg city. Along the road outside the building, you’ll see the gravedigger wandering around. Stop and speak to him about the latest person he buried.

When the gravedigger asks you why want to find the grave, tell him that he’s your friend. After you speak about Karel being a sorcerer, tell the gravedigger that you want to “stab him in the heart” so that he’s truly dead. The gravedigger says they only cut his head off, so make sure you don’t suggest you want to do that.

The gravedigger will tell you that the grave is under the willow tree nearby, so head over to it.

The location of the grave will be marked on your map.

Getting the Magic Arrow

You’ll need a spade to dig up the grave, but there will be one propped up against the tree if you don’t already have one in your inventory. Interact with the grave to quickly dig it up.

With Karel’s body on show (somehow still with his head), you need to make sure you “carefully remove the arrow” to keep it intact.

You’ll need a spade to dig up Karel’s grave and get the magic arrow.

Now, with the arrow in hand, head back to Devil’s Den to speak to Pasha again. However, a man called Hare is waiting for you instead, at Pasha’s request, and he asks you to follow him to Pasha’s camp in the woods. Just to be safe, don’t show him the arrow when he asks to see it.

Just as Pasha was, you’ll be able to find Hare sat at a table in The Devil’s Den.

Should You Give Hare The Arrow?

As you follow Hare into the woods, he’ll stop to chat to you. He’ll say that you can’t give Pasha the arrow because he’ll kill everyone. He wants you to give it to him instead. You can agree to or refuse.

If you agree to give Hare the magic arrow, the quest will end and he’ll walk off. You’ll get no reward for your efforts.

If your stats are high, any option to scare off Hare should work.

If you refuse to, you need to pass a skill check. If you’re heavily armoured or have a high speech stat, you’ll be able to threaten Hare, suggesting he wouldn’t be able to beat you in a fight even if he tried. If you pass the skill check, he’ll shrug and walk off. If you don’t pass the skill check, you’ll need to fight Hare.

Since you get nothing from giving Hare the magic arrow, you’re best refusing to give it to him and continuing on to Pasha.

How To Find Pasha’s Camp

Since Hans has left, you will need to find Pasha and his camp yourself. You’re shown a large area on the map, but you’ll find the camp just in the woods on the left, along the road. The camp is at the far end of the objective area from where you speak to Hare.

You’ll have to find Pasha yourself without Hare to lead you there.

Head into the woods and you’ll be able to speak to Pasha about what’s happened.

Should You Shoot Pasha?

Your first option is to tell Pasha that you gave Hare the arrow. If you do, Pasha and all his bandit goons will attack you. You can try to beat them but it’ll be a hard fight.

Alternatively, you can lie to him Karel had no head when you dug up his grave and that the arrow was gone. He’ll say thanks and give you no reward, so that’s a waste of time.

(1 of 2) Be sure to loot the chest before you leave!

Be sure to loot the chest before you leave! (left), You can loot Pasha’s body once he’s dead as the rest of the bandits will run off. (right)

The best thing to do is find Pasha’s camp and give him the arrow. He’ll say that he wants the blessing of the magic arrow and that you should shoot him in the head with it.

If you agree to shoot him and hit him in the head, Pasha will die, the quest will end, and the rest of his crew will run off. If you shoot him and miss, the quest will end, the arrow will be lost, and the gang will attack you. If you refuse to shoot him, the quest will end and he’ll attack you.

The best thing to do is to agree to shoot Pasha, kill him with the arrow, and then loot him and his camp. That’ll end the quest in the best way.

There is a chest in the camp with a medium lock that has 20 "Groschen" iconGroschen, pig skin, a simple waffenrock and brocade in. The brocade is good to sell for 150 Groschen, so grab it before you go.
