Starting Yackers n Fash¶
Head to the Black Horse Tavern between 18:00 - 21:00 which is located in the southwest portion of Kuttenberg and speak with Foreman Vlach. He wants you to track down a missing standard which he believes can be found in the Saint’s Tavern and if you want to get inside without getting caught it is via the Underground Tunnels.
Get into the Saints’ den¶
Make sure you’ve acquired a Torch and some
Lockpicks and then make your way over to the southern side of Kutternberg to find a crumbling away building and then head through the broken gate to find the entrance to Kutternberg Underground. Head to the end of the path (stick to the right) and climb up the ladder. Make your way up the stairs to find a locked door. Create a new save and then interact with the door to attempt lockpicking. If you haven’t had much experience with lockpicking yet, then all you need to do is adjust the ball until it begins to glow and slowly rotate the lock while keeping the ball in place.
Speak with Joerg Preng¶
(1 of 2) Head to the southern portion of Kutternberg
Head to the southern portion of Kutternberg (left), to find the entrance to the Underground Tunnel. (right)
Enter the room while crouched to avoid being attacked straightaway and then approach Joerg Preng and choose the following dialogue options to acquire the information you’re after without any bloodshed: “Foreman Vlach sent me”, “Vlach is a nitwit, I want to get him in trouble”, “I solve problems, that’s my job” and “Alright, I’ll pay you (200 Groschen)”. If you don’t want to pay the fee, then you can beat him at a game of
Dice or take them on in a fight which won’t be easy.
Follow the Clues¶
Exit the Underground Tunnel and head to the marked area to the south of Kutternberg and then when you reach a fork in the path you’ll find a Bloodied Sack.
Find the Merchant Hensel¶
(1 of 3) Head to this location on the map
Head southwest to find an abandoned cart and some wolves gathering near Hensels corpse nearby, take them out and inspect the body which will point you in the direction of the mill up ahead. As you get close, you’ll notice five bandits sitting near a campfire and unfortunately you’ll have to take them out, so lock on to the one closest to you and let him strike you first and you parry and counter.
Collect St. Anthony’s Standard¶
(1 of 3) Defeat the Bandits
After you’ve dealt with all of the enemies, loot Little John’s Corpse for some keys and then look at the building to the south and enter via the door on the left. Inside, you’ll want to lockpick the chest on the right side of the room to find St. Anthony’s Standard. If you’re unable to unlock the chest due to its difficulty, then loot Vaskek’s from the Mill’s corpse for the keys!
Yackers n Fash Quest Rewards¶
With St. Anthony’s Standard in your possession, loot all of the corpses as you can sell their equipment to make back the money you spent to obtain the information and then return to Foreman Vlach. Give him the Standard and the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 250 Groschen.
