In order to challenge for the title of “best brawler around”, you’ll need to smack around the ruffian wannabes at the Lower Semine Mill and the
Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn. In the latter case, this means completing the task
Wine, Women and Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and this page will provide a walkthrough for the aforementioned quest and strategies for punching out your foes.

Starting Wine, Women and Blood¶
You can start this quest by talking to Innkeeper Lawrence at the Zhelejov Wagoners Inn, and despite his initial invitation, there’s a 100 groschen fee to participate. This is a trivial fee, all things considered, but if you’d rather not pay it all the same you can (and probably should), complete the task Melee at the Mill. Melee at the Mill tasks you with defeating three opposing pugilists at the Lower
Semine Mill, which will earn you some cash (the wager is 10 groschen per bout) and earn you some Unarmed EXP. Thus prepared you should find it easier to defeat the stronger fighters at the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn, but even better, Miller Kreyzl will give you 125 groschen to represent him at the bouts at the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn, allowing you to pay the entry fee without dipping into your own reserves.
Defeat the fighters at the Lower Semine Mill and Miller Kreyzl will send you to challenge the brawlers at the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn… and will pay your entry fee.
Convince Dorothy to Let Fiala Fight¶
Once you’ve sorted that out, however, you’ll be impeded by another complication - one of the competitors, Fiala, isn’t allowed to compete. This wouldn’t be a tremendous loss if Fiala wasn’t the best brawler around, and it hardly makes sense to hold a competition without him. That being the case, Innkeeper Lawrence will encourage you to convince Fiala to disobey his wife, or his wife to let Fiala fight one last time.
Fiala’s wife happens to be none other than bathhouse owner Dorothy, who can usually be found sitting on a bench outside of her establishment. Talk to her and tell her the truth (if you play evasive you’ll lose the option to talk to her about Fiala), then succeed at one of two Speech checks (medium) to convince her to let Fiala fight. If you can’t manage that, seek out Fiala himself (he can be found leaning against the wall of the same building) and either convince him to participate by succeeding at a lie (easy) or question him about it, then goad him into fighting (easy). In any event, a Speech check of some description will get things going, just be sure to talk to Fiala after Dorothy if you convinced her instead of Fiala himself. Rescue Fiala from sissy town (population: him, formerly) and you’ll be able to challenge your first opponent, Hannes the Musician.
(1 of 3) Pay Innkeeper Lawrence the entry fee and you’ll be met with another problem - the local champion, Fiala, can’t fight.
Defeat Hannes the Musician¶
Hannes isn’t anything special, being roughly on par with the later two foes you may have fought at the Lower Semine Mill early, and all the rules are the same. You’ll wager 10 groschen at the start of the fight, and you won’t get to wear any gear, so don’t think you’ve got this in the bag because you challenged your foe while wearing armor. If you’re decent and blocking and back away to recover stamina when it gets low, you shouldn’t have much trouble with Hannes - perfect block his attacks, counterattack, and if you land a blow, keep swinging until he blocks, dodges or falls. Repeat and you’ll be able to move on to the next bout - you know the drill, wait for Hannes to recover, then talk to him to get your 20 groschen and unlock the next fight.
Hans is better at playing with instruments than banging with his fists - teach him the difference between a musician and an adventurer.
Defeat Bohunek¶
This time, however, there’s another complication. Watching your fight with Hannes is one Bathmaid Anna, who will hail Henry after the match. Talk to her and she’ll ask you to beat Bohunek’s ass so badly he won’t be able to sit for a week! Ask for details or just do what the pretty lady says - there’s a reward in it for you if you agree - then talk to Bohunek and challenge him. You can be extra belligerent on behalf of Bathmaid Anna, if you wish, but it doesn’t change the fight one bit. He’s not radically more challenging than Hannes was and if you follow the same strategy you should be able to win.
After the fight, talk to Bathmaid Anna and she’ll offer to teach you some things by way of thanks for thrashing Bohunek. She’s a skill teacher in Alchemy and Survival (both Apprentice), and while it’s a nice offer, these are skills that are both quite easy to level in other ways, so save your money. Bohunek, for his part, will promise not to harm Bathmaid Anna again, lest Henry return with steel in hand.
(1 of 4) After putting Hannes in his place, talk to Bathmaid Anna, who watched the fight in hope she could appeal to the victor.
Defeat Barber Fiala¶
Finally go challenge Fiala. Despite all the hype around him, he’s not much more challenging than Hannes and Bohunek were, and using the same strategies carried us to victory over him just as easily. Once he failed to block or dodge one of our attacks, we just kept punishing him until he took an unexpected nap.
Emerge victorious and Fiala will retire, promising to teach you some skills. He’s a trainer in Unarmed (Apprentice), Survival (Basics) and Drinking (Basics), and we highly recommend you scrounge together the groschen to get his training, as Unarmed EXP isn’t the easiest to gain, and you’ll want every bit you can get for the final fight in this questline.
(1 of 3) Send Fiala back into retirement,
Speaking of which, talk to Innkeeper Lawrence and he’ll reward you with 2x Weak Saviour Schnapps and 200 groschen for becoming the local champion… but he warns you that there’s another potent pugilist in Trosky who must be defeated before you can claim you’re the best brawler in the region. He doesn’t know the exact name of this legendary fighter, save that he dwells north of
Trosky Castle and his name is… B-something. It’s not much to go on, but it starts the next - and final - task in this questline, [
The Best for Last]!
