Starting The Carrot on a Stick Task¶
Once you’ve completed the task The Lost Sheep Quest you can start the follow up task Carrot on the Stick by speaking with Shepherd Stanislav who can be found to the south of the Appollonia Fast Travel Point. Unfortunately, one of his sheep has escaped into the woods after catching sight of a wolf and he needs your help tracking it down before something terrible happens.
Find a Lost Ram¶
Head southeast until you’re deep into the woods and then you’ll find the ram standing out in the open. It’ll begin to follow you as you walk back towards the shepherd but a large group of wolves will attempt to attack it, so you’ll want to stay close to the ram so you can prevent it from easily being attacked and then you’ll want to focus on the wolf that’s closest to you as that usually means it’ll be the next to attack.
The best way to safely deal with the wolves is by waiting until it strikes you first and then parrying and attacking back once. You’ll also want to instruct Mutt to attack one of the wolves as this will take some of the attention of you which means you’ll be at less risk of being killed.
Carrot on a Stick Rewards¶
If you arrive back with the ram, then you’ll be rewarded with 15 Groschen, Food and a Lucky Die but if the ram doesn’t make it then the shepherd will be a little disappointed but the quest can still be completed.
