Unarmed Uses and Effects¶
The Unarmed skill does exactly what it says on the tin, it impacts how effective any attacks you make without a weapon equipped are. The higher the skill, the more damage you’ll deal, faster you strike, and most importantly, how easy it is for an opponent to defend against your blows. Unarmed has many uses in the game and it’s something that you should aim to keep leveled.
While you’ll mostly use Unarmed attacks in the various fight club Tasks found throughout the Trosky and Kuttenberg regions, there are quests that will require you to fight it out. Additionally, if you level your Unarmed skill high enough, it will even become effective against enemies that are armed, just don’t rely on it too much if you’re surrounded by a group of enemies with weapons!
As expected, many of the Perks found in the Unarmed tree all center around making your strikes without a weapon stronger and more impactful, but there are some in there that have a universal use, such as making it easier to knock out or perform stealth kills that you’ll want to look at unlocking as early as possible in the game.
Leveling Unarmed¶
Just like every other weapon-based skill in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, leveling Unarmed requires you to put your weapon away and duke it out, granting XP for any strike delivered during this state. As you don’t need a weapon to be in Unarmed, this is perhaps even easier than the weapon-based skills to level, so look for opportunities to put your weapon away and go for it, just avoid doing so when outnumbered by enemies with weapons.
One of the most effective ways of leveling your Unarmed skill, however, comes in the forms of the many fight club Tasks, these will pit you against other Unarmed opponents. The Trosky region has a questline that will take you all over the region fighting opponents, and later, can be repeated, so make good use of them to boost this skill.
The final method for leveling your Unarmed skill, like with every other skill in the game, is by making use of Skill Trainers and Skill Books. There’s not much to know about Skill Trainers beyond discovering their location and paying the requisite coin per rank you want to learn. You can find out how much each one costs below:
Skill Trainer Rank | Groschens |
---|---|
Basics | 100 |
Apprentice | 500 |
Journeyman | 1500 |
? | 5000 |
A lot of Skill Trainers can be found by discovering new areas, while some will become a Skill Trainer after completing a quest for them. One such Trainer is the Trosky region fight club leader that you can find after completing The Best for Last quest, he will train you at Apprentice rank. Alternatively, the Scribe in Troskowitz will offer opportunities to sell Skill Books, with which you can read to learn specific skills.
Best Unarmed Perks¶
Every time your Unarmed skill reaches a new even level (so 6, 8, 10, etc.), you’ll get a Perk Point to spend, with each of these thresholds offering new Perks available to learn. While it is entirely possible to grab every Perk, that involves a massive amount of investment and as such, you’ll want to prioritize specific Perks. With that said, these are the Perks you should be looking to unlock as soon as possible:
Sting Like a Bee¶
If you find yourself engaging in Unarmed combat a lot, such as for the fight club quests, then this is a no-brainer. After the first 30 seconds in combat, you’ll find your damage is increased by 30% and your Stamina will increase 30% quicker. If you’re struggling with a particular bout, hang back at the beginning until this kicks in, and then cruise to victory!
No Pain No Gain¶
Your Unarmed Skill can be used to fuel XP to your Strength, Agility, and Vitality by 15%, this really adds up with the various other XP increasing Perks you can get from other trees, so look to get this one as soon as possible, especially as those three stats will make Unarmed combat easier in general.
Sandman¶
This particular Perk is unrelated to fistfighting, but it is a universal Perk that you should look to get as soon as possible. Once learned, the Sandman Perk will make it easier to either knock out or stealth kill someone, this is a vitally important Perk that you won’t want to go into stealth without!
Jawbreaker¶
A nice simple, but incredibly strong Perk, that every Unarmed fan should look to get as soon as they hit Level 16. Once learned, the Jawbreaker Perk will increase the damage of each subsequent strike that isn’t interrupted, this means if you are great at stringing together combos, you’ll make short work of your foes.

Jawbreaker | Each of your subsequent unarmed attacks in an unbroken line will do more damage than the last.
