Get on a Wagon to Kuttenberg!¶
Battered and beaten, you begin the quest outside the fort at Raborsch following the events of The Feast and having delivered the news to Liechtenstein about the threat to the Jews in Kuttenberg. Fortunately, you won’t need to make the long ride back yourself, instead, there’s a wagon ready for you. Check your equipment, heal up if needed, and then get on to begin the journey.
During this ride, you’ll get the opportunity to fill in Kubyenka on what’s been going on, or stick to silence. Regardless of your choices, you’ll eventually get the option to speed up (fast travel), take this, as the ride will take a while to complete naturally.
You can choose to discuss the situation or fast travel to Kuttenberg during the wagon ride.
Get to the City¶
The ride will end at a tunnel entrance just outside the city, as the group decides to enter the city on foot. This is another chance to check your gear, weapons, and supplies are in order because as soon as you reach the city, you’ll be forced into a series of battles. When you’re ready, follow behind Liechtenstein through the tunnels and you’ll eventually reach the tavern where you first met Samuel and Liechtenstein, only the door appears to be open already.
Search the Inn¶
Unfortunately for Samuel’s men, it looks like they were caught off guard, and many of them are dead. Still, you’ll need to make sure none of the soldiers make it out of the Inn alive. Head upstairs and you’ll come across the first soldier on his own, in the room in front of you. If you’re careful and are not wearing heavy armor, you can sneak up on him and score yourself a Stealth Kill, just be sure to equip more sturdier equipment following his demise.
(1 of 2) You’ll find one soldier on the lower floors.
You’ll find one soldier on the lower floors. (left), And another three on the top floor, fight these on the stairs so you don’t get surrounded. (right)
That’s because as soon as you make your way upstairs, three more soldiers will attack, and stealth is not an option here. Your best bet is to lure them down to the stairs, this narrow fighting area works in your favor and prevents them from ganging up on you. Fortunately, provided you have decent equipment for this stage of the game, these soldiers shouldn’t cause too many issues for you. Once they’re dealt with, loot the bodies if needed and then head outside of the Inn to meet up with Samuel. Follow him to his mother’s house and he’ll ask you to take her through the backyards.
Escape Through the Backyards¶
Follow Sara out of the back door and you’ll be immediately stopped by two shooters on the ramparts, you must deal with these before Sara will keep moving. You have two options available here, you can either get out a ranged weapon and fire back, or, more easily, dash up the ramparts yourself and take them down with a few simple sword strikes. The stairs leading up can be tough to see, depending on the time of the day, but if you look at the wall they’re standing on, to the left, in the corner, you’ll find them.
Return to Sara once they’re dead and continue following her until she stops at another house. Another two soldiers are awaiting you here but fortunately, Samuel is already engaged in combat with them, this allows you to hit them from behind and take them out easily, just be quick about it so Samuel isn’t overwhelmed! A scene will trigger following this encounter, and plenty more soldiers will rush through.
(1 of 3) Either fight these soldiers at range with a crossbow.
Withstand the Onslaught Outside the Synagogue!¶
Survival is the name of the game during this battle, you won’t be able to take down every single enemy so you must focus on defense for the next three minutes or so, and it’s especially important you don’t take too much damage as it can be difficult to heal with all of the enemies about.
With that in mind, don’t be careless, and use your position to your advantage, if you’re careful, you shouldn’t be able to get surrounded. Look at who your allies are fighting, and help them take the soldiers down, they’ll go down quicker and often you’ll be able to hit them from behind, preventing them from blocking. Eventually the scene will trigger and you’ll make your escape from the side street, preventing any means of following you.
(1 of 2) Survival is the main goal during the battle at the end of the quest.

When you find yourself outside the city once more, go over to the barn and speak with Sara about Henry’s father, Martin. You’ll get the opportunity to learn a bit more about what happened and fill Sara and Samuel a bit on what Martin got up to. Eventually, Henry will decide to head to Devil’s Den to meet up with Zizka while Samuel will help move his people, bringing the quest to an end and starting
The Lion’s Den.
