Back in the Saddle is the seventh Main Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. It’ll require you to beat Adjutant Michael in a duel and find some herbs for Klara. Read on to find out where you need to go, and what you get for completing the quest.

Escort Sir Hans Capon to Nebakov¶

Head outside and speak with Chamberlain Ulrich and follow him until you reach your room, then grab your equipment from the chest before paying a visit to Kabat. He’ll offer you a horse, but if you already have Pebbles from The Jaunt Side Quest then you’ll decline their offer and take the Prague Saddle, Soft Leather Bridle and Knight’s Horseshoe instead. Exit the Castle and speak with Hans and then follow him on horseback until you’re offered a race.

You’ll now want to try and attempt to win the race towards the marked location as quickly as you can by avoiding the main path and instead running across the fields, but if you don’t succeed then the quest will continue on as normal. After a quick chat you’ll start to make your way towards Nebakov and you’ll be given the option to fast travel, but we recommend traveling there yourself as this will increase your Horsemanship Stat.

Duel Adjutant Michael¶

Hans Capon will have to temporarily leave you for other duties when you arrive and you’ll be left in Adjutant Michael’s hands for a short while. He’ll provide you with a short tour and then you’ll be offered out for a duel and you’ll want to accept as you’ll obtain some Rowel Spurs if you win. The easiest will to win this duel is by taking a more defensive approach, so you’ll only want to attack after a successful parry and avoid depleting your stamina by striking too many times in quick succession.

Speak with Michael after the duel and head over to the stables and talk to Groom Peltzel and choose the “I’m interested in the horses” to learn more about the situation, then return to the location of the duel and go north to find Klara and she’ll patch you up. If you want to have a stronger relationship with her then you’ll want to select the following dialogue choices - “A Knight at your Service” and “I can’t say no to a comely main”.

Find Marigold, Poppies and Sage for Klara¶

You’ll now be tasked with helping her track down some fresh herbs for brewing potions for the locals so follow her until you reach a large open field. Speak with her and choose the “I know quite a bit about herbs” to gain some reputation points, then you’ll need to find some Marigold, Poppies and Sage which can all be found within this field.

Once you’ve collected enough of each plant, deliver them to Klara and follow her to trigger a scene, then you’ll want to try and learn more about the horses so speak with Adjutant Michael who can be found by visiting his marker on the map. If you’re done exploring the fortress, forward the time a couple of hours to finish Hans Capon’s meeting and go and find him at the stables, then return to Trosky and speak with Lord von Bergow to bring the quest to a close!
