Starting the Reliquary Task

To be able to access the "Kuttenberg" iconKuttenberg region, you’ll have to wait until you’ve progressed the main story a fair amount, indeed, it’s not until you complete the Storm quest that you’ll reach Kuttenberg for the first time, and then you’ll be locked into the introductory main quests of this region before you can jump on your horse and explore this massive region.

If you head to the far east of the region, you’ll find a place named "Old Kutna" iconOld Kutna that sits just on the outskirts of the city. If you travel northeast from this village, into the wilderness, you’ll come across a Humnle Knight camping. Have a word with him and you’ll learn that he’s an avid admirer of a Sir Valentine, who happens to be buried at the nearby Sedletz Monastery, and he’d love to see the sword he wielded. Unfortunately, he can’t enter, but asks if you wouldn’t mind grabbing the sword and bringing it to him to have a look at.

You can find the Humble Knight that starts The Reliquary in the northeast of the Kuttenberg region.

Get into the Temple Crypt

Fortunately, the location you need to head to isn’t too far away, just a short trip to the southeast from your current location. Once you enter the grounds, pay a visit to Brother Morticius first, as you’ll not only want to get permission to enter the temple itself without any hassle, but also begin Thou art but dust…, a Side Quest that takes place in the same area, two birds with one stone!

The entrance to the temple, then, is right next to him, go inside and if you look on the ground, you’ll find some planks that will lead you to the Crypt that you seek. Unfortunately, Henry will fall through and need to find an alternative way out of the crypt, but regardless, you’ve found yourself where you need to be.

Find the Sword of Sir Valentine

Fortunately for Henry, the crypt isn’t overly large and so long as you have a "Torch" iconTorch with you, you’ll be able to find your way around easy enough. While you’re down here, pick up all of the bones you can to make Brother Morticius’s quest without the need to come back down later. For the sake of The Reliquary, though, you’ll want to head through the eastern door and head to the back of the room to find a Sarcophagus that you can interact with.

(1 of 3) You can find the trap door in the main room of the temple.

Unfortunately, upon opening it, you’ll see that the sword is long gone so you won’t be able to “borrow” it. Not all is lost though, examine the lid more carefully and Henry will come up with the idea to make a replica, so that the Humble Knight can still get an idea on what the blade looked like. With a Sketch in mind, it’s time to find your way out of here, so take the southeastern door out of this room and follow the passage to a door you can unlock, granting you access to the graveyard once more.

Forge a Replica of Sir Valentine’s Sword

Now that you have an idea of how to forge a replica of Sir Valentine’s sword, you’ll need to gather the necessary materials and craft it at a "Smithy" iconSmithy. The easiest place to do this is at Kuttenberg, not only is it just to the south of you, but there are many "Blacksmith" iconBlacksmith’s along the main street where you can purchases all of the necessary materials. You’ll need one of each of the following materials:

Once you have all of them (purchase them from the various traders in Kuttenberg), make use of the many smithy’s around here and create the sword to complete this step of the quest.

(1 of 4) You’ll need these materials to forge the replica sword.

Bring Sir Valentine’s Sword to the Knight

Once you have your sword in your inventory, make your return to the Humble Knight at his camp, just north of Sedletz Monastery. After you give him the details on the replica and agree to hand over the sword, the mask will come off the Humble Knight as he reveals that he’s a seller of stolen goods and kills anyone that gets in his way. Regardless of what you say, it seems like a fight is the only way out of this.

While the Humble Knight has sufficient protection, he’s still only one man versus the might of Henry and "Mutt" iconMutt. Make use of your loyal companion to distract him, and then follow up with combos to quickly put an end to this whole mess, completing the quest in the process. Before you leave, take the time to loot the Humble Knight and his chest nearby, there’s plenty of good loot to either equip or sell!
