Life is dangerous enough in medieval Bohemia, but being Hans’ retainer, cast adrift in a bandit-infested land on the brink of war makes combat not only inevitable, but frequent. Sadly, Henry is no superhuman - with a good suit of armor and a quality weapon he stands a good chance of defeating any one vagabond that accosts him on the road, but against a group of armed opponents? Discretion is the better part of valor, but when something just needs killing, chivalry itself may have to be set aside. This page will provide a guide for the achievement Lights Out in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!
Page Breakdown¶
Lights Out Preparations¶
Earning the “Lights Out” achievement sounds simple enough - you need to “slit the throat of an enemy who is looking for you”. Ignoring the fact you don’t actually slit your opponent’s throat, there are some things you need to make this work. First, you need a dagger, which is simple enough to get - you can buy one from various merchants, including the blacksmith at Tachov. No dagger, no stealth kills, so this is mandatory - make sure you have one and that it’s equipped.
Next you’ll need some proper sneaky gear, which is any clothing that keeps your noise and visibility low. This typically means cheap, clean, dark clothes that aren’t heavy and don’t include any excess metal, so armor is out, for the most part. Just keep an eye on the noise and visibility stats on everything you wear and don’t equip it if it doesn’t lower these values. You can find a good set of starter stealth gear during the side quest Materia Prima, just complete the optional objective to steal clothes from the bathhouse at the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn.
Get a dagger and some clothes with low noise and visibility.
Finally, Henry will just need some skill at sneaking. Level his Stealth skill by sneaking near wild animals, or by picking locks in towns - check out the Stealth Leveling & Perks guide for more information on leveling this skill. The “Tight Grip” perk (Strength Lv10) will make this easier, but there’s no set goal for leveling - if you find it hard to sneak up on foes, just level more. Stealth is regularly useful in this game, so you can’t be overleveled in Stealth!
Earning the Lights Out Achievement¶
Once you have a dagger equipped, some proper sneaky clothes, have leveled Stealth a bit and know how to perform stealth takedowns (practice with Hired Hand Hensel at the Lower Semine Mill, if you need to!) you’re ready to go! You just need to seek out enemies, and bandits are good prey, especially ones at camps with regular patrols. We used the Enemy
Camp along the western edge of
Rocktower Pond as our hunting grounds and picked off stragglers (especially isolated sleeping bandits) until only a few were left. Switch to your stealth gear and be wary that engaging in conventional combat without proper armor will be quite dangerous - don’t be afraid to use
Saviour Schnapps in case something goes awry! Also, if you have
Mutt, be sure to make him wait a distance away from the camp so he doesn’t draw the attention of bandits.
(1 of 3) Isolate an enemy and throw a rock to alert them,
Now that you’re prepared, pick out a target and, while sneaking, throw a rock to draw their attention - preferably so they’ll walk away from you. While investigating this rock you’ll see the white behavior hare on the top center of the screen, which should indicate that the enemy is looking for you (the white hare will be shielding its eyes and looking around). Now all you have to do is sneak up behind the enemy, hold down the “stealth kill” button and when struggling, press the prompt to kill them. Once your enemy is dead this achievement should pop.
