After the main quest For Whom the Bell Tolls, Hans Capon will be appointed as an envoy for Von Bergow - a far sight better than how he was treated the last two times he approached Castle Trosky. Henry, of course, is brought along with Hans on this mission and it won’t be long before Henry becomes suspicious of the going-ons at Nebakov Fortress. Do some sleuthing and find out what happened to the Lord of
Nebakov to earn the achievement Old Raven in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!
Page Breakdown¶
Unlocking the “Old Raven” Achievement¶
To unlock the “Old Raven” achievement you must get access to the prison in Nebakov Fortress, and to do this you must get rid of Guard Hertel, who is standing just outside the door. Violence tends to be noisy and messy, and if you end up with a bounty you could fail the quest (which just ends your objectives in Nebakov Fortress and tasks you with regrouping with Hans at Castle Trosky).
You’ll need to find another way to get rid of Guard Hertel, and this requires you to find intel sufficient to raise Henry’s suspicion enough to concoct a lie that’ll lure Guard Hertel away. Once you deal with Guard Hertel, wait until the coast is clear (Guard Hertel will take a while walking up the nearby stairs and it’ll be a few moments before he’s out of sight) then pick the locked door {hard} to gain access to the prison, where you can find the Lord of Nebakov. Talk to him and you’ll earn this achievement… just be sure to close the door behind you before you talk to him, as otherwise there’s a good chance you’ll be noticed during the conversation, which will likely end up with a bounty being placed on you.

Getting Rid of Guard Hertel¶
Now that we know what to do, let’s talk about getting rid of Guard Hertel. After you gain access to Nekabov Fortress, Hans will be taken to meet with its supposed lord while Henry is left in the care of Adjutant Michael, who is keen for you to waste time by partaking in various distractions, including having a duel with Michael, playing dice with Guardsman Zwerk or talking to Groom Peltzel about a race. There are other noteworthy distractions here, including escorting Klara to find some herbs, but you are ultimately on a timer here - dawdle too long and you will miss your opportunity to search around Nebakov Fortress, preventing you from earning this achievement! That said, the time limit is pretty generous - you have a few hours to burn and there’s no reason whatsoever you can’t beat up Michael, play dice with Zwerk, win a horse race, have a pleasant time with Klara, chat with the blacksmith and still discover Lord Nebakov.
The easiest way to get rid of Guard Hertel is pursuing the matter of the suspiciously abundant horses at Nebakov. Talk to Adjutant Michael after he’s done chastising Guards Hertel and Zwerk, and after Michael probes for information about your visit and Hans he’ll challenge you to a duel. Accept or decline, it doesn’t really matter, and afterwards pick the dialog option ”There’s something I’d like to ask…” followed by ”You’ve got lots of horses here…” and ”I’ll be glad to hear it!” to hear Michael’s tale of the horses. Once done, exit the fortress and seek out Groom Peltzel and pick the dialog option ”You’ve got a lot of horses here.” followed by passing one of three medium or hard Speech checks to learn Peltzel’s conflicting story. Afterwards end the conversation with ”I see.” - no need to antagonize the liar, but hearing about these irreconcilable stories will give you the objective Explore the fortress (Optional), which will all you to return to Guard Hertel and convince him to leave his post by succeeding at a Speech check (medium).

Once Guard Hertel is gone, you just need to wait until the coast is clear, open the door he was guarding and talk to the Lord of Nekabov to earn this achievement.
