A Good Scrub is a side quest that can be found within the Kuttenberg Region, and can be accessed once you’ve completed The Sword and the Quill Main Quest. It’ll require you to help a bathkeeper set up her new establishment. Read on to find out where you need to go and what you get for completing the quest.

Starting A Good Scrub Side Quest¶

Head to the Kingfisher Bathhouse which is located in the southeast portion of Kuttenberg and speak with the Owner Betty. She is attempting to set up a new bathhouse, but a mysterious package hasn’t arrived yet so she wants you to track it down. You’ll now want to go to Grund (northwest of Kuttenberg) and speak with Wagoner Matsek who can be found leaning against the wall outside of the tavern.

He’s meant to transport some girls to the bathhouse, but he’s worried how it might look so you’ll need to convince him by selecting the “we’re not doing anything illegal!” dialogue choice. Speak with the four girls that are sitting outside and tell them it’s time to go and then interact with the wagon outside to start traveling back to Kuttenberg and they’ll ask you some interesting questions along the way which you can answer freely.

Persuade people to come to the new bathhouse¶

Bathhouse Owner Adam (Betty’s Competitor) will try and get a sneaky look behind the scenes and Betty will force him to leave and then she’ll want you to promote her new bathhouse to the locals. You’ll now be presented with a variety of dialogue choices which you’ll need to put together to create enticing speech. If you’re unsure, then simply choose the following dialogue options to impress Betty:

• The Beginning: Like Nothing you’ve ever experienced!
• The Middle: We have services for every customer
• The End: Feasting, dancing and singing

If you’re happy with the speech you’ll want to visit the Grain Market, Merchants’ Street Vintners’ Street and the Horse Market (all marked on your map) and when you arrive announce the bathhouse by pressing L1/LB/Q. Once you’ve visited all four locations, return to Betty to trigger a cutscene and then it’s time to prepare for the unexpected inspection!

Tidy up the bathhouse¶

You can avoid this objective entirely by heading outside and starting the inspection, but this means you won’t get all of the rewards upon completion so we recommend helping clean up the bathhouse beforehand.

Hide the Drunk Guests¶

The first thing you should worry about is the four drunk guys which can be done by picking them by pressing L1/LB/Q and taking them up upstairs and placing them into the room on the right.

Pick up the Tankards and Clothes¶

Next up, it’s time to pick up the clothes and tankards which can be found split between the lounging area and the bathtub room. They are relatively easy to find by slowly walking around while looking at the floor and benches.

Scrub the Floors¶

It’s now time to give the floors a good clean, so approach the middle bathtub on the left side of the room and press X/A/E while looking at the sick.

A Good Scrub Quest Rewards¶

Once you’ve cleaned up the bathhouse wait for Andrew Polner to complete his inspection and then head outside to hear his thoughts and the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 100 Groschen and a permanent discount when you use the bathhouses services.
