Been There, Done That Trophy Guide - Trosky Region Quests

There are two bugbears achievements for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, noteworthy for being very easy to miss and requiring the player to mind their actions of the course of the entire game to unlock. These the [Lent] achievement and the Been There, Done That achievement, the latter of which requires the player to “complete most of the game’s content”. This page will provide a guide for unlocking Been There, Done That through the "Trosky region" iconTrosky region.

Page Breakdown

Been There, Done That in Trosky

The achievement description does the player few favors, just giving a cryptic goal of “completing most of the game’s content”. Fortunately the actual objective is simple enough - you’ve got to complete most of the game’s quests, including main quests, side quests and tasks. You’ve got to complete a minimum of 112 quests over the course of the game (out of around 126~) to unlock this achievement, and 49 such quests can be found in the Trosky region. We’ll focus on Trosky for this page, and leave the ["Kuttenberg" iconKuttenberg] region for another, as an in-depth look at completing all (or at least most) of the quests in each region would be a bit cumbersome for a single page. The goal of this page is to provide step-by-step instructions for completing all of the quests in Trosky so you can move on to Kuttenberg in good shape to make a run at this achievement!

As a general rule, many quests are not time sensitive, and many of the ones that are, aren’t time sensitive until you start them. You should avoid starting quests until you intend to finish them, and this might mean simply not going to certain areas until you’re ready for said quest. Also, try not to commit crimes, don’t pointlessly lower your reputation with others, and above all do not kill named NPCs if at all possible! Alienate or murder a quest-giver and you may not be able to complete their quests. Having the skills and gear required to complete quests optimally may take a bit of grinding, and early on you may want to be content stomping around between "Troskowitz" iconTroskowitz, "Tachov" iconTachov and the "Zhelejov" iconZhelejov Wagoners’ Inn until you’re sufficiently leveled and established to complete quests cleanly, including optional objectives which can, in some cases, unlock achievements like Old Raven. Most importantly of all make hard saves! Do not rely on sleeping and quest saves, especially not on console (these autosaves seem to get overwritten after a while) - use "Saviour Schnapps" iconSaviour Schnapps to save after you’ve made progress you’d rather not lose.

You don’t need to worry about quest completion during the prologue, but once you’re out of the pillory, your decisions matter.

All Quests in Trosky

As mentioned above, there are 49 quests in the Trosky region, and that’s an awful lot of content to cover. That being the case, we’ll cut this region up into blocs, starting with the prologue (which is largely fool-proof) and moving onto the early Trosky content, which mostly consists of us doing a choice selection of quests that’ll help us get established. Once done, the vast majority of Trosky’s quests can be completed in whatever order you wish, but we’ll prioritize doing everything we can before moving on with Wedding Crashers, after which we’ll be stuck doing main quests until For Whom the Bell Tolls is complete, after which we’ll finish all side content before bee-lining the rest of the main quests in Trosky.

The Prologue

There’s initially not much you can miss as far as “Been There, Done That” goes - complete the prologue four main quests:

Not really much to say here - you’ll learn about dice, picking herbs and alchemy, along with a few basic gameplay elements, but you don’t need to be worry about botching anything here. Just play through the game until you’re off the pillory in Troskowitz, which is where the real work begins.

(1 of 3) Alchemy is a good way to earn cash early on.

Getting Started

This segment is perhaps the longest and most important in the game, as off the pillory you’ve nothing but some rags and perhaps a junk weapon taken from the bandits near Bozhena’s cabin. You’ve got to rebuild everything you’ve lost - get money, lodgings, a steady source of food, rebuild your skills and stats and get your hands on some serviceable armor and weapons. In essence, your goal here is to become strong and stable enough to complete the rest of the quests in this chapter satisfactorily, and there’s no objective point where this step ends - it’s just a matter of where you feel comfortable and when you’ve decided you’re sick of grinding and willing to risk effort and reloads during said quests. We highly suggest you read the Starter Tips page for details, as that page goes into great depth on how to achieve most of these goals.

Generally speaking when you’ve got 1,000+ groschen, metal armor, have purchased the best weapon(s) from the blacksmith at Tachov and have beds unlocked at Tachov, the "Lower Semine Mill" iconLower Semine Mill and the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn, you should be ready to start questing in earnest. We recommend you level Survival, Alchemy, Stealth and Thievery, at the least, as they will commonly give you more options when it comes to completing quests. Combat skills can be trickier, as you generally need something to abuse to level them up, but running around and killing bandits is a good way to level these up and earn some groschen, and you’d be surprised how many you can find just roaming the roads between Troskowitz, Tachov and the Zhelejov Wagoners’ Inn. Try not to run off and explore too much, lest you stumble across a quest you otherwise aren’t prepared to start. Leveling Strength, Agility and Vitality](https://www.gamerguides.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-ii/guide/stats-and-skills/vitality/vitality-leveling-and-perks-guide) are also good ideas, but these will mostly be by-products of the aforementioned skill leveling.

During this phase you’ll want to complete the following quests:

  • The Blacksmith’s Son: Smithing tutorial, unlocks a bed at Tachov, don’t start the next quest The Jaunt yet.
  • Materia Prima: Thievery tutorials, gets you some low noise and low visibility gear (optional), you might miss talking to Zinek in the pillory at Troskowitz, but this doesn’t have any negative long-term effects. Mostly get this started so you can begin leveling Thievery.
  • Combat Training I and Combat Training II: You will learn Masterstrike, which makes sword combat much easier. You may need better gear to defeat Tomcat to start "Combat Training II" iconCombat Training II. Avoid talking to any nomads so you don’t start Miri Fajta

While these of course all contribute to the quest totals you need for Been There, Done That, we’re mostly completing these quests out of convenience - the rewards they offer are simply too useful at the start of the game to ignore. After you’re a bit more established, knock out the following quests:

  • Mutt: Reunited Henry and "Mutt" iconMutt, allowing you to level Houndmaster. Mutt’s also useful in combat.
  • Bad Blood: Get you a bed at Bozhena’s hut again, you might want to make sure your Charisma is up to snuff (20+) for this quest, as it’s easier if you pass numerous Speech checks. Use perfume and/or "Fox" iconFox potions to boost your stats if necessary.
  • Lackey: Get you a bed at the gamemaster’s house west of Tachov, you will need to be able to defeat several wolves (having Mutt helps) and several Bandits. Don’t start until you’ve got some proper armor and Masterstrike to make your life easier.

Once all that’s done you should be ready to complete the majority of the quests in Trosky!

(1 of 4) Help Miller Kreyzl out at the Lower Semine Mill to get Thievery tutorials and some starter thief gear.

Most Quests Before Wedding Crashers

By this point you’ve completed perhaps 10~ quests in the Trosky region, but more importantly you’re established. You’ve got beds throughout the region, giving you plenty of staging points, you’ve got Mutt, you know how to Masterstrike, and you’ve got passable armor and a decent weapon. You should also be able to create Henry-tier potions on a whim and raising your Thievery high enough to pick hard locks and pickpocket the odd item will help a lot, as well. Once that’s all done, it’s time to take care of pretty much every quest we can until we’ve no choice but to continue the main questline:

(1 of 3) Make sure Gules is alive at the end of “The Jaunt”, as he unlocks four more tasks.

  • Forbidden Fruit: the followup to Materia Prima in the Miller Kreyzl questline, and the first half of Opus Magnum. Don’t actually go to the wedding with Enneleyn until you’re done with all the quests on this list! Also note that you don’t actually have to go to the wedding with Enneleyn to complete this quest.
  • The Hermit: the final quest in the blacksmith’s questline, during which you need to complete the task A Sinful Soul. Be sure these are both complete before you head to the wedding.

Wedding Crashers and Final Trosky Quests

At this point you should have 38 quests completed including everything listed above save for Opus Magnum, which you should have progressed until you can talk to Enneleyn to go to the wedding. Either go with her, or talk to the blacksmith at Tachov to go, then complete Wedding Crashers, after which you’ll be stuck completing For Whom the Bell Tolls. Once done the next main quest Back in the Saddle will have started, but you can - and should - take a break to finish up the side quests and tasks in the region. First, finish off Opus Magnum, then Demons of Trosky and Pilgrimage. Once all those are done you’ll be at 43 quests, leaving just the final main quests in Trosky:

(1 of 3) After you’ve completed everything you can in Trosky, advance the main quest by attending the Semine wedding,

With that, you’re done in Trosky and should have nothing to regret as you move onto the "Kuttenberg region" iconKuttenberg region… at least as far as the Been There, Done That trophy is concerned! Best of all, the more you leveled in Trosky, the less you’ll have to do in Kuttenberg, just 63 more main quests, side quests and tasks left to go!
