One of the hardest-to-obtain armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom is the Mystic Set. This is due to having to complete a side adventure and find Bubbul Gems to trade for each piece of the set. The set also has a controversial ability that allows you to pay Rupees instead of hearts when Link is injured. How Many Bubbul Gems Does it Take to Get The Full Mystic Armor Set¶

To get the Mystic Armor set is comprised of three pieces, the Mystic Headpiece, Mystic Trousers, and Mystic Robe. This item gives you the ability to shed Rupees instead of hearts. If you have a big wallet, this can be an excellent way to give yourself an extra buff in a tough battle. The only way to get the Mystic Armor Set is by finishing the side adventure The Hunt For Bubbul Gems, located near Pico Pond in Eldin. Once this is done, you have to find Koltin after the sun has set. One of the best spots is outside Lookout Landing around 10 pm. He will give you the full set, along with several other items, in exchange for Bubbul Gems. Here is the amount of Bubbul Gems you will need to give to Koltin for each piece of the Mystic Armor set.

You can’t outright by the set. Instead, you will need to buy each item that comes on sale until you run into a piece. The Mystic Robe is the first item you can buy, followed by the Mystic Trousers. The Mystic Headpiece will be the very last item Koltin will give you, meaning that you need to gather a total of 46 Bubbul Gems to get the whole set.

How Many Rupees Will I Lose When Using Mystic Armor¶

The Mystic Armor is a set that will take out Rupees every time you are hit. Due to this, it’s not recommended for those trying to save up. The stronger the monster that is hitting you is, the more damage you will take. While you will be fine using this set with weaker enemies like Bokoblins, the stronger an enemy is, the more money you will shed. Here is a quick example of fast your money can drain when fighting enemies.

• Electric Wizzrobe - 50 Rupees hit
• Lizalfos - 90 Rupees per hit
• Black Bokoblin - 230 Rupees pet hit
• Thunder Gleeok - 290 Rupees per hit
• Black Lizalfos - 310 Rupees per hit

Even if you are only wearing a single piece of this set, the effect takes place. If you have no more Rupees to give, then you will start taking actual damage. You should note that there is no way to turn off this ability, so if you are saving up, then don’t go wearing it around normally, as a single run-in with a stronger enemy could cost you hundreds of Rupees.

Mystic Armor Set Upgrade Costs¶

At this time, it doesn’t seem like you can upgrade the Mystic Armor, and it has a base defense of 3. This is likely due to the fact that it already gives you a heavy advantage when taking damage. As such, it also doesn’t have a secondary buff that it can gain.
