The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete Ishodag Shrine

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to complete "Ishodag Shrine" iconIshodag Shrine, which can be found in "Central Hyrule" iconCentral Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK).

Where to Find Ishodag Shrine

This Shrine is found west of Hyrule Castle Town ruins in Central Hyrule (map marker). More specifically, its found atop a rocky formation in the Quarry Ruins area. To get to the shrine you’ll need to climb up the side of the cliff. If you can’t reach the top without exhausting stamina there are a few rocky crevices that you can stand on and replenish your stamina to then continue your climb.

Ishodag Shrine is found on top of a tall rocky cliff that you’ll need to climb to reach.

Ishodag Shrine: Fan Puzzle

When you first enter into the shrine, you’ll spot a fan near the left wall. Equip ultrahand and take the fan over to beneath the ledge. Rotate the fan so that the blades are facing upwards, then hit it to activate the fan. Equip your paraglider and fly up using the fan’s wind.

(1 of 2) Rotate the fan and use it to produce wind

Rotate the fan and use it to produce wind (left), so you can fly up to the ledge above. (right)

Ishodag Shrine: How to Cross the Water

In this next area, you’ll need to find a way across the flowing water in the middle of the room. You’ll need to use the fan and the plank of wood to make a powered boat that can take you across the water.

How to Make a Boat

(1 of 2) Make a boat using the plank and fan

Make a boat using the plank and fan (left), and then use it to cross the water. (right)

To make the boat, all you’ll need to do is equip ultrahand and use it to attach the fan to the back of the wooden plank. If you’re struggling to properly attach the fan, try using the ramp into the water to your advantage. Place the plank on the ramp to lift up the back end. Then, you can place the fan at the center of the back edge - if it isn’t centered your boat may start driving askew!

Once the boat is assembled, drop it into the water and bash the fan to ride it across the water to the other side.

How to Get the Treasure Chest

(1 of 2) Place the fan on the side of the platform and turn it on to make the platform horizontal

Place the fan on the side of the platform and turn it on to make the platform horizontal (left), then use ascend to get onto the platform to obtain the chest. (right)

On the other side of the water you’ll find two fans. You can use one of the fans to get to the chest, which is found on a vertical platform suspended in the air. Place the fan on the left side of the plank, and turn it on. The force of the fan will cause the plank to go horizontal. You can then use "Ascend" iconAscend to get on top of the platform to obtain the chest, which contains an "Opal" iconOpal.

Once you’ve gotten the treasure, remove the fan. You’ll need to use the two fans to propel the cart up the side of the wall. One fan is not strong enough to carry you and the cart up the wall so you’ll have to stick both fans to the bottom. After riding the cart all the way to the top of the wall, you’ll find the end of the shrine where you can claim your "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing and exit!

(1 of 2) Place the fans on the underside of the cart

Place the fans on the underside of the cart (left), the switch on the fans and hop on in! (right)
