The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Follow the Cuccos

By
Jarrod Garripoli

There are a number of Side Quests to be found in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with a few available in Kakariko Village. Speak to Trissa again, after finishing her first quest.

Trissa will have another side quest after finishing the first

Where to Start Follow the Cuccos in Tears of the Kingdom

You will find this side quest in !Kakariko Village, but it won’t be available straight away. To get this one to appear, you will have to complete "Codgers' Quarrel" iconCodgers’ Quarrel, from Trissa in the general shop on the western side. After completing that side quest, speak to her again to find out she has something else for you to do.

Where to Find Bird Eggs in Tears of the Kingdom

Trissa’s started restocking her store, but says that "Bird Egg" iconBird Eggs are still in short supply. She mentions that the "Cucco" iconCuccos lay them every morning, but they have started laying the eggs in a new spot. She tried following the birds to their new nesting place, but well, she’s not young anymore and couldn’t keep up with them. Trissa wants you to procure 10 Bird Eggs for her to restock her store, which is all you have to do to complete the quest.

(1 of 2) Large trees will sometimes have some !Bird Eggs on them

Large trees will sometimes have some !Bird Eggs on them (left), Pester the !Cuccos too much and they will attack you (right)

If you’ve been thoroughly exploring, you might have climbed a couple of trees and found the eggs sitting in nests on top of them. That’s one way to go about obtaining them, but it’s not the best. Another thing you could do is go around the village and attack the Cuccos, which will sometimes reveal the eggs underneath them. Note that if you attack them too often in a short amount of time, the Cuccos will get angry and a large flock of them will come to attack you. Eventually, they will stop, but they actually do hurt you.

Where to Find the Cucco Hideaway in Tears of the Kingdom

The above two methods may get you enough to complete the quest, but it requires a lot of running around, when there’s a much simpler method at play here. That simpler method is to simply find the Cucco’s new nesting ground. You may stumble across it if you explore every nook and cranny, but the proper way to do it is to follow the Cuccos. Before doing anything, you will want to pass the time until it’s morning. At around 5-5:30AM, head to the eastern/northeastern part of the village and you should find some Cuccos moving up the path.

(1 of 4) In the mornings, you can find some !Cuccos plotting something

Naturally, you should follow them, with them taking you on a nice, long journey past the Zonai dispensary. Eventually, they will bring you to the mouth of a cave, the Cucco Hideaway, which is their new nesting spot. There will be a number of nests here, with each one offering two eggs, so feel free to help yourself. You will have plenty to finish the quest now, but there’s a rock wall you can destroy by the little pond, leading deeper into the cave. There, you will find a "Like Like" iconLike Like, another rock wall, and the "Bubbulfrog" iconBubbulfrog behind it. Once you’re finished, report back to Trissa and she will give you 50 Rupees for your troubles.
