The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete Jonsau Shrine

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page details how to complete "Jonsau Shrine" iconJonsau Shrine, which is found in the Lanayru Region in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Find Jonsau Shrine

Jonsau Shrine is found in Lanayru Wetlands (Map Marker), right nearby a "Bokoblin" iconBokoblin and "Lizalfos" iconLizalfos enemy camp. To get here, you’ll want to head east from Wetland Stable (Map Marker) and cross the shallow marshland waters to the shrine.

Jonsau Shrine: Bouncing Ball Puzzle Solution

When you enter into this shrine, the first thing you’ll see is a large yellow ball floating in the water, and above it, there’s a pressure plate that’ll open the door to the right. Equip ultrahand and pick up the ball - in order to get it to bounce high enough to touch the plate, you’ll need to bring the ball all the way under the water and get it to touch the bottom of the pool - you can’t use ultrahand whilst in the water yourself so make sure to stay on the edge. Release the ball and it’ll bounce right up and touch the pressure plate!

(1 of 2) Pull the ball down under the water

Pull the ball down under the water (left), and release it to get it to bounce high enough to hit the pressure plate. (right)

Proceed into the next room and you’ll see some water to the left. Use "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand to pick up the chest that’s found at the bottom of the water - it contains a "Strong Construct Bow" iconStrong Construct Bow. Watch out for the Construct enemy as you proceed into the next room - he has a shield that he’ll use to protect himself from any incoming arrows.

In the next room you’ll find another yellow floating object, only this time its a floating platform. To get it to hit the pressure plate above, first rotate it so it’s vertical. Then drag it down to the bottom of the water and let go! It’ll go high enough to hit the pressure plate, but if you don’t rotate it vertically it will not go high enough (physics!).

Rotate the platform then pull it into the water to get it to reach the pressure plate when you release.

In the final room, you’ll find a similar puzzle but with a few more steps. Above, you’ll see that a platform is stuck on top of a wooden platform. You want to use this platform to get on top of the upper level so you can reach the end of the shrine. In order to do this, use the yellow floating ball to push the wooden platform out of the way (using the same dunk and release method). It might take you a few tries to be able to hit the wooden platform as you need to be quite precise with your aim.

Then, hop onto the platform that’s now fallen into the water and use "Recall" iconRecall on it so it takes you to the upper level where it just fell from! You can then jump down and claim your "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing and finish the shrine.

(1 of 2) Use the bouncy ball to free the platform by pushing the wood platform out of the way

Use the bouncy ball to free the platform by pushing the wood platform out of the way (left), then hop onto the platform and recall all the way to the top. (right)
