This page offers a guide on how to increase your Hearts and Stamina, something you will find vitally important to your enjoyment of the game.

You can find a !Goddess Statue in the !Lookout Landing !Emergency Shelter.

How to Earn Light of Blessings in Zelda TotK

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is finally here and like in Breath of The Wild you’ll have Hearts and Stamina which you’ll need to make your adventure a lot enjoyable, as when you start the game you’ll be back at 3 "Heart Container" iconHeart Containers and one wheel of Stamina. This means getting around the world will take longer, as Link won’t be able to run for long and enemies easily kill you because you can’t take many hits.

However, you’ll be able to increase both of these by earning "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessings which can be done by completing various Shrines throughout the game. There are over 100+ Shrines in the game and they can be easily found by looking for structures with a green glow. Inside the Shrine you’ll need to solve a puzzle which typically focuses on a certain ability in the game, such as "Ascend" iconAscend or "Fuse" iconFuse, then at the end you can claim a Light of Blessing from the Statue.

How to Obtain Heart Container and Stamina Vessels in TotK

(1 of 2) Head to !Lookout Landing

Head to !Lookout Landing (left), and interact with the Goddess Stature to pick an upgrade. (right)

Before you can obtain a Heart Container or "Stamina Vessel" iconStamina Vessels you’ll need to complete at least four Shrines so you have four Light of Blessings, then you’ll need to find a "Goddess Statue" iconGoddess Statue which can be found in various settlements around Hyrule - you can use our Interactive Map via the link in the top nav bar to help you locate one nearby. However, during the early portions of the game the easiest one to reach is in the "Emergency Shelter" iconEmergency Shelter that’s located in the center of "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing. Upon finding a Goddess Statue, interact with it then you’ll be provided with a choice of either a Health Container or a Stamina Vessel.

Choosing Health Container will raise your total health by one and choosing a Stamina Vessel will add a quarter of the next Stamina Wheel, so you’ll need to upgrade this a few times before you can get a full wheel. You can have a total of 40 Hearts and 3 Stamina Wheels and it is recommended to obtain a mixture of upgrades, so you keep it fairly balanced throughout the game. For example obtain one Heart Container, then get a Stamina Vessel.
