You’ll find towers scattered throughout Hyrule, and aside from being striking landmarks that can help you navigate the world (just look out for the four guide lights on the corner - you can spot them from quite a distance!), they’re also useful as fast travel locations and for arguably their primary purpose - unveiling obfuscated map regions. Enter a tower, interact with the terminal, and you’ll be propelled into the sky, from which vantage Link will survey the land around him.
The first tower you claim is a simple, story-driven affair, but later towers are often puzzles, requiring you to figure out how to get inside or where to find a nearby character capable of getting the tower functional again. Since exploring a region before dispelling the fog of war on the map makes it much easier to navigate, you’ll want to seek out towers and complete them before you start exploring a region in earnest. Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower is located along the south-center of the inhospitable Gerudo Highlands subregion. Scaling from the northeast and looking for sky stones might be the best way to reach your destination.
Where to find the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom¶
Completing the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower takes a bit of effort, but that pales in comparison to the chore of simply reaching the tower itself. It’s located - as its name suggests - in the Gerudo Highlands subregion, most of which is unbearably cold. It’ll take two tabs of cold resistance to survive here, but that’s not the worst of it. These snowy mountains are occupied by numerous strong (at least as far as early-game characters are concerned) monsters and you’ll have to do a lot of climbing to get anywhere. Even with appropriate gear, you’ll still need to carefully pick a route to find cliffs short enough to scale with one Stamina meter. All in all, it’s doable with a weak character, but getting to this tower takes more effort than many towers.
The best routes we found were as follows:

Head northwest from [
Mayatat Shrine], climbing and using 
Ascend to scale the cliffs. This route takes a good bit of trial and error, especially with the abundance of enemies. -
Follow the road north, then west from [
Tsutsu-um Shrine], then follow the mountains northwest until you reach the ravine housing the Tamio River, at which point you’ll want to climb some relatively gentle slopes, passing between the Satorsa Snowfield and Laparoh Mesa. There are some sky stones you should come across that you can ride up into the air with 
Recall, from which you can glide off towards your destination. This approach is much, much easier if you can find the correct slopes to scale and the sky stones.
How to Complete the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom¶
After much effort you’ll reach the Gerudo Highlands Skyview tower, which, unfortunately, is inaccessible due to the heavy snowfall. Search a tent northeast of the tower to find a note, which mentions a cave where some supplies were stored. The cave in question - Meadela’s Mantel Cave - is northwest of this tent, so head on in and explore until you find some building supplies and a river.
You’ll need to use Ascend later on in the cave, and to do this you’re going to need dry feet. The only problem is, the spot you need to ascend to is over water, so grab all the wooden platforms nearby, attach them together to create a ramp, then ride down river, eventually toppling over a waterfall. Be sure to glide when you fall victim to gravity and land on some dry ground to the right. To the south you’ll spot some support beams over the river, and while most of the ceiling supported by these beams is stone, there’s a section of wood - this is where you need to ascend, and the reason you assembled such an unnecessarily large raft is so you could fetch it from the water and fashion it into a makeshift bridge… assuming you weren’t fortunate enough for some wood to get stuck on the beams near the wooden roof you need to ascend through.
Get a platform under the wooden roof and ascend through it to reach the interior of the tower, after which you can just activate the terminal and launch yourself into the sky to complete this tower. On the plus side, after claiming the tower you’ll never have to bother trekking back to this location on foot again.
