The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Activate Mount Lanayru Tower

By
Nathan Garvin

You’ll find towers scattered throughout Hyrule, and aside from being striking landmarks that can help you navigate the world (just look out for the four guide lights on the corner - you can spot them from quite a distance!), they’re also useful as fast travel locations and for arguably their primary purpose - unveiling obfuscated map regions. Enter a tower, interact with the terminal, and you’ll be propelled into the sky, from which vantage Link will survey the land around him.

The first tower you claim is a simple, story-driven affair, but later towers are often puzzles, requiring you to figure out how to get inside or where to find a nearby character capable of getting the tower functional again. Since exploring a region before dispelling the fog of war on the map makes it much easier to navigate, you’ll want to seek out towers and complete them before you start exploring a region in earnest. This page will provide a walkthrough for the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

(1 of 3) Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower can be found in the aptly named Mount Lanayru subregion, along the southeastern corner of Hyrule.

Where to find the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

Despite how far away this tower is from "Central Hyrule" iconCentral Hyrule, it’s not a difficult tower to reach… just time consuming. You can follow roads connected Central Hyrule to Hateno Village, which is located along the southeastern corner of the map (and southwest of your destination) or you can launch yourself up with the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower and glide northeast to get fairly close to !Hateno Village. Either way, the village is a good staging point for a serious attempt at this tower, especially if you claim ["Zanmik Shrine" iconZanmik Shrine] overlooking the village to the southwest.

Once you’ve made it to !Hateno Village, you’ll need to head northeast to reach the Mount Lanayru subregion. Despite the name, there’s not necessarily a whole lot of climbing involved in getting to the tower. !Mount Lanayru’s slopes are often shallow enough that you can often run up them with a few relatively short climbs made to avoid longer detours or avoid enemies, which, in a rare change of pace, will probably affect your route more than the terrain. The slopes leading up !Mount Lanayru spiral in a corkscrew fashion, which ultimately lead to the Shrine of Wisdom just southeast of the tower you seek.

How to Complete the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

The entire challenge with this tower is simply reaching it. Once you’re there, completing Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower is a simple matter of opening the door, activating the terminal, and using the launching pad to send yourself into the sky to survey the region.
