The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Get the Dusk Bow in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

By
Jarrod Garripoli

There are plenty of weapons and armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some of which will be coming from the other games in the series. Some of these might be tied to side quests, but a lot of them are found just out in the wild. This page will focus on the Dusk Bow, a weapon that can be found inside !Hyrule Castle.

The Dusk Bow is a powerful bow found at Hyrule Castle.

Where to Find the Dusk Bow in Tears of the Kingdom

The "Dusk Bow" iconDusk Bow is a ranged weapon that has a base damage of 30 and durability of 40. As mentioned above, it is found in Hyrule Castle, but it’s not exactly something that can easily be grabbed, as it takes a little bit of effort. First, you will have to get to !Hyrule Castle, since it’s not on the ground after the events at the beginning of the game. Once you make it to the Surface after completing the Great Sky Island, one of the first places you should go is "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing. As you do the main quests there, you will unlock the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, which is pretty much all you need to get going here (you’ll get the "Paraglider" iconParaglider during this, too).

Note that you might need some food that replenishes stamina before going to the castle, as it is a long journey to it, in the air. You shouldn’t really need anything else, though, as there is really no need to fight any monsters there (nothing should be in your way). With all of that out of the way, launch from the Skyview Tower and begin gliding towards the north, which is where the castle is located. The ideal landing spot will be the main bridge that leads into the front door, and the Sanctum. However, if you have a lot of stamina, it’s possible to bypass quite a bit of the castle, by continuing the glide to the tallest spire of the castle.

(1 of 5) You’ll need to glide through the air to reach Hyrule Castle.

In fact, the tallest spire is what you’ll be shooting for, as that will be the location of the Dusk Bow. If you land right before the !Sanctum, you will be able to use "Ascend" iconAscend to get to higher spots. This will actually be your main way of getting to the top, so look for spots where you can actually use it, until you get to the room with the bell in it. It will take a little bit of fiddling around here, but you can use Ascend on the ledge outside of the bell room, putting you right before the final ascent.

From here, you just need to do a little bit of climbing, which will place you on a thin ledge. Walk around this ledge, until you see the broken portion of the tower, and that will be your goal. Climb up to that broken spot and you will finally be able to claim your Dusk Bow, which will just be sitting there. Note that the Dusk Bow will respawn after every Blood Moon occurs, so you will be able to get more than just one of them, if you wanted.
