The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To the Kingdom of Hyrule - How to Reach Hyrule

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page details how to leave the Great Sky Island and reach the Kingdom of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK).

How to Reach Hyrule Kingdom. Read on below to find how to get to this fabled place.

In order to reach Hyrule, you’ll need to complete four shrines, which you can find information for below, as well as complete The Great Sky Island Main Quests:

How to Reach Hyrule Kingdom

Make your way to the back of the temple again and interact with the "Goddess Statue" iconGoddess Statue to obtain a "Heart Container" iconHeart Container - this will give you one extra Heart of health, which will be enough for you to be able to open the door behind the statue!

(1 of 2) You can finally obtain another heart container

You can finally obtain another heart container (left), which will be enough to open the door! (right)

Speak to "Rauru" iconRauru once more and he’ll recommend you find more Shrines around to help replenish your hearts (x4 lights of blessing = 1/4 stamina wheel or 1 heart container). Cross over the floating bridge and drop down to the lower bit, then use "Ascend" iconAscend to get back up onto the upper platform in front. Then repeat this again a little further along the path.

Once at the end of path you’ll be able to interact with a glowing light to trigger a cut scene and following this cutscene you’ll be able to dive down into Hyrule Kingdom! As you jump down press Joy-Con-R to dive into the water below.

Swim safely out of the water - you can’t stay swimming for too long as it takes up stamina - to get onto the shore. You can use Joy-Con-ButtonX to dash but this will take up more stamina.

Once out of the water, you’ll be required to head north to the glowing marker on your map. When you arrive in Hyrule Kingdom, you’ll need to make your way over to a small settlement called "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing, which can be found just south of Hyrule Castle. When you first drop into Hyrule Kingdom you’ll be quite a ways from Lookout Landing. You’ll need to travel north/north east to reach the settlement.

Head north to Lookout Landing in search of information.

Along the way to the settlement, you should try to stock up on some mushrooms and other ingredients you might find along the way. Hylian Mushrooms are a great way to replenish Hearts in the early game, especially when cooked at a cooking pot.

When you arrive at the gates you’ll be told by the guard, Mondi, to head over to "Purah" iconPurah, who is the leader of Lookout Landing. She can be found at the main settlement building, found to the right of Lookout Landing Skyview Tower (you can activate this tower later!). This will end this quest and begin the new quest Crisis at Hyrule Castle.
