By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to complete the side adventure "Princess Zelda Kidnapped?!" iconPrincess Zelda Kidnapped?!, found at Dueling Peaks Stable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Princess Zelda Kidnapped?! Side Adventure.

This is one of 12 Lucky Clover Gazette side adventures that are found by interacting with different NPCs at various stables. Before you can access any of these stable side adventures (including this one), you’ll have to speak to "Traysi" iconTraysi at the Lucky Clover Gazette outside Rito Village in the Hebra Region. You can head over to our page on All Lucky Clover Gazette side quests for more information!

How to Start Princess Zelda Kidnapped?! Side Adventure

To start this side adventure, you’ll need to find "Penn" iconPenn at Dueling Peaks Stable (Map Marker) in the West Necluda area. You’ll find Penn on the top of the stable horse head! To get up there, climb up onto the roof then up onto the lower part of the horse head. Then position yourself beneath the horse head and ascend upwards.

When you talk to Penn he’ll tell you that "Princess Zelda" iconPrincess Zelda has been kidnapped by the Yiga Clan! He then mentions that the rumor mentions the “twins” and he thought of the Dueling Peaks!

The Yiga Clan have supposedly kidnapped Zelda!

Where to Find Princess Zelda

The “twins” that Penn speaks of refers to the two peaks (The Dueling Peaks) in front of the Dueling Peaks Stable. You’ll need to get atop one of the peaks to find Zelda in a cage! There are a few different ways to get up. We recommend getting to "Eshos Shrine" iconEshos Shrine, then paragliding over to the opposite mountain across the river. Then using ascend to pass up through some fallen sky rocks. Make your way to the top of the peak then drop down a bit to find Zelda.

When you interact with Zelda, she’ll ask you to remove the cage, which you can do using ultrahand. After removing the cage you’ll be shocked to discover that it was all a trap set by the Yiga Clan and it’s not actually Zelda after all!

How to Beat the Yiga Clan Soldiers

Yiga Soldiers can be quite difficult to fight when you have lower levelled weapons and fewer hearts. It is also quite tough to fight them in melee range as they’re very agile and have strong weapons. We recommend trying to shoot at them using your bow and arrow and applying buffs like fire fruit or Lightning "Chuchu Jelly" iconChuchu Jelly. Using elemental rod weapons can also be a good ranged alternative. They’re relatively weak HP-wise but can deal a lot of damage and will jump around and disappear a lot so you might find it tricky to actually hit them with your weapons. Watch out for the slam down attacks or the running charge attacks as these are the ones that’ll do the most damage! If you’re a bit stronger in terms of equipment and hearts, you could try to land some well timed hits when the Yiga come running at you or prepare to disappear!

Once they’ve been defeated, Penn will come down to speak with you. You’ll earn some Rupees based on how many Lucky Clover Gazette quests you’ve already completed.
