The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Find the Korok Friends on Great Sky Island

By
Shane Williams

The !Great Sky Island is the very first area you’ll be able explore in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Here you’ll be taught the basics, such as crafting rafts, cooking and how to use the new devices. This page will navigate you through the necessary steps to reuniting the "Korok Friend" iconKorok Friends.

You’ll come across Koroks when exploring the island.

Where to Find The First Korok on the Great Sky Island

As you’re exploring the Great Sky Island you’ll come across four Korok’s. However, all of them are separated from their friends and if you successfully help reunite them, then you’ll be rewarded with a "Korok Seed" iconKorok Seeds. These can be used to increase an inventory slot of your choice. In order to find the first Korok you’ll want to start at the In-isa Fast Travel, then cross the river to the north to find the one of the lonely Koroks sitting on a rock to the northwest.

How to Use The Rail

(1 of 2) Build a platform and attach the Korok to it

Build a platform and attach the Korok to it (left), then bring it over to its friend. (right)

Here you’ll need to create a platform for it so it can ride the rail along to the next island. In order to do this, you’ll want to make use of the nearby logs and hooks, so activate your "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand Ability and attach two together side by side, then grab one of the hooks and rotate so the circular part is at the top. Attach it to the center of the logs, then grab the Korok and attach it to the platform. Now hook it onto the rail and watch him go! When you reach the next island, detach the Korok from the platform, then place him next to his friend who can be found sitting under a tent. Speak with them and you’ll be rewarded with two Korok Seeds.

Where to Find the Second Korok on the Great Sky Island

For the next Korok you’ll want to start at the "In-isa Shrine" iconIn-isa Shrine and follow the path along to the southeast until you come out of the Pondside Cave. Cross the river, then head up the hill and work your way through the Mining Cave. Take the cart up to the island above. Here you’ll want to attach a fan to a cart, then place it on the next track. Place the Korok inside using the Ultrahand Ability, then activate the fan to be blown across. Finally, place the Korok with his friend.
