There are quite a few quests to do around Hyrule if you want to learn more about Tears of The Kingdoms lore. One of the more interesting quests that you can pick up early on is The Horse Guard’s Request, which sends you to find a Stalhorse on the surface. This quest can be a bit confusing though as there aren’t a lot of places Stalhorses will spawn. The guide below goes over where to start The Horse Guard’s Request and how to find a Stalhorse on Hyrule’s surface.
Where to Find a Stalhorse on Hyrule’s Surface¶
To start The Horse Guard’s Request, you will need to go to Outskirt Stable in Central Hyrule. Once there, go to the part of the stable where the horses are kept and speak with Toffa. He will tell you he heard a rumor about Stalhorses appearing in the area. Stalhorses do spawn on Hyrule’s surface, but only in certain places and under the right conditions. For starters, they only appear at night so you will want to look for them between 11 pm and 5 am. Before and after that they won’t show up anymore. Once it’s night, follow the road heading north from Outskirt Stable across the Manhala Bridge.
You will be heading to the field directly behind the horse statue in the area. On the map this is called Sanidin Park Ruins. Directly below the statue you should see a few Stalhorses if you’ve come at the right time. They are a bit hard to sneak up on, so use some stealth armor or a stealth-boosting food. Once you mount one, you calm it down just like a regular horse. If you don’t see any spawning, then leave the area and return, or set up a campfire and wait until the next night.
Once you have your horse, you will need to ride it all the way back to Outskirt Stable. Once you’re there, simply walk up to Toffa while riding it to get a Purple Rupee, along with a Pony Point, and the quest will complete. Afterward, you are free to ride on your new friend as much as you want. Keep in mind that you can’t register it at the stable and at 5 am it will disappear. If you’re riding it at this point you will be thrown off at the horse will disappear.
