One of the main areas of the game is !Zora’s Domain and when you first get there, the place isn’t normal, as it has been overrun by a bunch of muck. After you clear the Zora’s portion of Regional Phenomena, !Zora’s Domain will be cleansed and a host of side quests will start appearing. One of these side quests will be A Wife Wafted Away.

Where to Start A Wife Wafted Away in Tears of the Kingdom¶

As is the case with the majority of the side quests in Zora’s Domain, you will need to have completed the Zora’s portion of Regional Phenomena. Once you’ve done that and the domain is nice and clean, fast travel to the Mogawak Shrine, which is the one at water level in the domain. From there, climb the nearby ladder and as you cross the smaller bridge leading into the proper part of the domain, you will see a NPC with a quest for you (his name is Fronk).

Where to Find Mei for A Wife Wafted Away in Tears of the Kingdom¶

Fronk is worried about his wife, Mei, as she hasn’t been home in a while. The last he heard from her was when she left !Zora’s Domain via the eastern bridge, singing about a floating island. The biggest clue for this quest is the “floating island” bit, which likely means that Mei went to a place in the sky. It’s important to note that Zora are able to swim up waterfalls, like you can with your Zora Armor equipped, so they aren’t restricted to the land.

With this knowledge, you should have a good idea on where Mei ended up going. Yep, Mei will be up on Wellspring Island, which is where you visited during Regional Phenomena. So, you should be able to fast travel there via the Water Temple or Igoshon Shrine. She’s a lot closer to the shrine, so that’s the better option. If you look southeast from the shrine, you should see some smoke from a campfire, which is where you want to go. Find out where the smoke is coming from, which might be a bit difficult to see, because of the clouds.

However, the smoke coming from the campfire goes straight up, so it’s not that bad to see it. Make your way to the smoke and at the campfire, you will find Mei, who’s standing right next to a small pool of water. Speak with her and choose the option about Fronk, which will cause her to go back to !Zora’s Domain. Return to Fronk to see his wife returned safely, and she will give you a Hearty Fish Skewer for your troubles, which will also be the end of the side quest.
