Shrines are one of the core gameplay elements in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Scattered throughout Hyrule, shrines typically require you to solve some sort of puzzle or combat trial, upon the completion of which you’ll be rewarded with a Light of Blessing and potentially equipment. Shrines can also serve as fast travel points - all you have to do is interact with them. Since completing shrines will make your character stronger and provide exploration footholds, it’s essential that you conquer them whenever possible. This page will provide a walkthrough for Mayak Shrine.
Where to find Mayak Shrine in TotK¶
You can attempt any of the 152 shrines at any point throughout your adventure in Hyrule. However, some shrines are located in areas which require you to equip specific types of armor or eat certain foods in order to combat the extreme temperatures. This isn’t something you need to worry about for this shrine, so you’ll want to fast travel to the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower and glide down to the northeast until you reach the East Deplian Badlands area, then you’ll find the Mayak Shrine entrance sitting out in the open.
How to Complete the Mayak Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
When you enter the Mayak Shrine you’ll notice that the objective of this shrine is focused timing, so use the platform on the left and wait for it to boost you up onto the upper platform, then use Ultrahand and place it on the ramp. You’ll now want to drop back down and wait for the ball to reach the end of the platform before hitting the pedestal which will move the platform into position. If you’ve timed it correctly, then the ball will hit the bull’s-eye and open the door to the next room.
Use the platform on the left to boost you into the air again and glide over to the next room. Ignore the pedestal for now as there currently is no ball in this room, so instead you’ll want to stand on the platform and wait for it to boost you up into the air, then you’ll find another smaller platform halfway up. Glide over to it and wait for it to boost you up to the final platform which contains a ball.
Place the ball onto the ramp and then you’ll want to jump all the way down and land on the platform which contains the pedestal, then quickly melee it to cause the ball to land on the target and open the last door. Finally, make your way into the altar and interact with it to claim your Light of Blessing.
