The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete The North Necluda Sky Crystal

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Shrine Quests are a special kind of side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as they are needed to open up one of the many Shrines in the game. You will need to hunt down a crystal and return it to the shrine in order to open it up, where you can obtain the "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing within the place. This page will detail how to complete the North Necluda Sky Crystal Shrine Quest.

The Josiu Shrine will require you to find the crystal for it first

Where to Find the Josiu Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

You will need to travel to the North Necluda Sky Archipelago in order to reach this shrine. Similar to the "Kumamayn Shrine" iconKumamayn Shrine, you will be able to get here by using one of the towers found on the Surface. In particular, look for the "Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower" iconSahasra Slope Skyview Tower, which is just southeast of Kakariko Village. Once you have activated the tower, launch yourself into the sky and start gliding to the east. You will be looking for the island with the carved architecture, which will actually play a part in the quest. The island next to it is where you will find the shrine, so investigate it to get this Shrine Quest.

How to get the Crystal to the Josiu Shrine

Once you have the Shrine Quest activated, a beam will be pointed to the island with the curved architecture. Follow the beam, but don’t jump/glide to that island just yet, as there’s something in the vicinity that makes this a lot easier than you think. Right at the edge of the island with the shrine, you should see some kind of contraption, with a curved piece floating above it. You can use "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand on this to actually control the larger curved architecture, with you being able to rotate it.

(1 of 3) You will want to land on this island pointed out in the screenshot

The intended method, most likely, is to use the device to connect the movable platform to the island with the crystal, to the one on the side. You will then glide over to the island with the crystal, place it on the movable platform and use the side island to get back to the device. With the crystal on the platform, you will be able to use the device to rotate the platform to connect it to the island with the shrine. All you will have to do now is carry the crystal to the shrine to open it up. Of course, there are other ways to potentially do this, like using a Spring or some makeshift hot air balloon.

Upon being able to enter the shrine, loot the chest in the center for a "Large Zonai Charge" iconLarge Zonai Charge, then head to the altar to get the Light of Blessing.
