The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Best Fusions For The Master Sword

By
Jessica Dillon

You can do a lot of impressive combos using the "Fuse" iconFuse ability in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. You can Fuse just about any weapon and item together, and this doesn’t stop just because you obtained the "Master Sword" iconMaster Sword. While the Master Sword does work a bit differently, you can still Fuse powerful items to it in order to get a stat boost. The guide below goes over what the best items to fuse to the Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom are and why.

Best Items to Fuse With The Master Sword in TotK

The Master Sword can be fused with any item in the game, just like any other weapon, but the rules are slightly different. For starters, the appearance of the Master Sword won’t change, but it will briefly flash to the item you have equipped when pulled out or when you attack depending on the item. In addition, you will be able to change what item is fused, but not until after the sword’s energy is used up and it disappears. Once it reappears for use, you can fuse a different material.

You can also use one-time-use items like Water Fruit that break immediately, but this is a bit of a waste as these are best left to arrows. The Master Sword itself has a base attack of 30, and when it breaks it will have a 10-minute recharge time. Ideally, you want to save your strongest items to fuse with the Master Sword. Here are some of the best items to fuse to it and what they do.

Item Attack Bonus Total Attack Ability
"Silver Lynel" iconSilver Lynel Saber Horn 55 85 None, best for pure power.
"Gibdo Bone" iconGibdo Bones 40 70 Easy to obtain in the Gerudo Desert.
"Captain Construct" iconCaptain Construct Horn IV 35 65 Easy to Obtain after you are in the late game, but are fragile.
Gleeok Horns 30 60 Different elemental power depending on the horn. You can choose between ice, fire, or lighting.
Dragon Horns 26 56 Different elemental power depending on the horn. You can choose between ice, fire, or lighting.
"Black Lizalfos" iconBlack Lizalfos Tail 24 54 Turns the "Master Sword" iconMaster Sword into a whip.
"Light Dragon's Scale" iconLight Dragon’s Scale 12 42 Heals Link as he fights.

The Master Sword is not the strongest item attack-wise in the game with its base attack of 30, but it does regenerate. This gives it a huge advantage over every other item in the game. Even the ability to fuse it with a different item every time it restores can be a huge plus for strategy. If you are refighting the "Gibdo" iconGibdo Queen, for example, equipping an item that gives you lighting-powered attacks is a huge advantage.
