The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A Way to Trade, Washed Away Walkthrough - Zelda Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

Once things are back together in the coastal "Lurelin Village" iconLurelin Village, you can start doing more side quests to help fix the town. One of these called, "A Way to Trade, Washed Away" iconA Way to Trade, Washed Away involves opening back up the village store. This side quest is a bit frustrating to complete as you have to locate a faraway island and sail a boat back to Lurelin Village. The guide below goes over where to find Tenoko Island and how to return a fishing boat to Garini in Lurelin Village.

Speak with Garini at Lookout Landing to get him to return to Lurelin Village.

Where to Find a Boat For Garini

Garini initially gives you the quest Village Attacked by Pirates that asks Link to help save Lurelin Village. Before you can bring him home and start his next quest, A Way to Trade, Washed Away you will need to complete the two side adventures associated with Lurelin Village. These side adventures are as follows:

Once this is done, return to "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing and speak with Garini once again. He will be thrilled to learn that the village is rebuilt and return to Lurelin. Teleport back to the Sifumim Shrine above the village and go to the Lurelin dock to find Garini. He will tell you that all of his fishing boats are gone and that they have most likely drifted a ways away to Tenoko Island. This island is a small location located in the Necluda Sea north of the Marari-in Shrine. You will need to fly or sail a boat there, you can use one of the surrounding beaches to get close enough to do so. You likely won’t be able to make it to the island just by swimming unless you have a fully stacked Stamina Bar.

Once you land on Tenoko Island you will find three fishing boats, as well as a lot of Zonai devices and Capsules laying on the beach. Pick one of the three boats and attach some Fans and a Steering Stick to it. We recommend using two Fans to ensure that the boat is moving along smoothly. If you want it to go a bit faster, then you can pick up one of the nearby Rockets for a bit more speed. You will need to use "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand to place the boat in the water and then steer it back to the Lurelin Village dock. This trip does take a small amount of time, but you can recharge your Zonai battery mid-sail by letting go of the Steering Stick and waiting for your batteries to fill back up.

(1 of 6) Speak with Garini on the Lurelin Village dock to start A Way to Trade, Washed Away.

Once you sail back into the Lurelin Bay, steer the ship near the dock where Garini is standing. This will start a cutscene and complete the quest. For your troubles, Garini will give you a "Star Fragment" iconStar Fragment. In addition to this, all items in his store will always be free for Link. You can get "Mighty Porgy" iconMighty Porgy, "Octorok Eyeball" iconOctorok Eyeballs, "Octo Balloon" iconOcto Balloons, and "Ironshell Crab" iconIronshell Crab from the shop. The shop will need to restock after you pick up your free items, so be sure to return every few days to stock back up.
