The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Get The Stealth Armor in Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

There are tons of different armor pieces in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. Some of these are easier to get than others, with the Stealth set being one of the most beginner-friendly sets due to its location and cost to upgrade. The Stealth set can be tricky to find at first, especially with how large the map is. The guide below goes over where to find the Stealth armor set in Tears of The Kingdom.

How to Get The Stealth Armor

The Stealth armor makes it much easier to move around enemies without being noticed. To get the Stealth armor, you will need to head to Kakariko Village and visit the armor shop in the middle of town. Once inside, you will find the Stealth and Radiant sets. The armor pieces will be marked up to 5,000 Rupees each, costing you 15,000 Rupees to buy the full Stealth set. To bring these prices down, you simply need to complete a short side quest called Gloom-Borne Illness. This involves the grandma of the shopkeeper, and once she is better, the price for the set will fall. For help with completing the side quest, check out our guide here. After this the mask will cost 500 Rupees, the shirt will cost 700 Rupees, and the tights will cost 600 Rupees for a total of 18,000 Rupees altogether.

If you need the Stealth set now, then you can buy it at a higher price, and the clerk will refund you the difference once you have completed the side quest.

How to Upgrade The Stealth Armor Set

To upgrade armor in Tears of The Kingdom, you will need to bring the Great Fairies out of hiding. Once you do, you can exchange a set amount of Rupees and plants to upgrade each piece of your armor. The Stealth armor already gives you a bonus to your stealth stat, but after upgrading it a bit, you will gain the Night Speed ability, which gives Link a boost to his movement speed at night. The chart below goes over everything you need to upgrade an armor piece for the Stealth set. Keep in mind that you will need to do this three times to upgrade the set fully.

Defense Level Items Needed Rupees Needed
5 x3 Nightshade 10 Rupees
8 x5 Nightshade, x5 "Sunset Firefly" iconSunset Firefly 50 Rupees
12 x8 "Silent Shroom" iconSilent Shroom, x5 "Sticky Frog" iconSticky Frog, x5 "Sneaky River Snail" iconSneaky River Snail 200 Rupees
20 x10 "Stealthfin Trout" iconStealthfin Trout, x5 "Silent Princess" iconSilent Princess, x10 "Sundelion" iconSundelion 500 Rupees

This is an interesting set as it is one of the easiest ones to upgrade in the game, as it uses no hard-to-reach items or monster parts. Each item listed above can easily be located around Hyrule without having to fight any "Lynel" iconLynels or go exploring The Depths. Keep in mind that you will need to have all four Great Fairies unlocked to upgrade the set to 20. The easiest one to start with is near Pico Pond in Eldin.
