The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete Sepapa Shrine

By
Shane Williams

Shrines are one of the core gameplay elements in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Scattered throughout Hyrule, shrines typically require you to solve some sort of puzzle or combat trial, upon the completion of which you’ll be rewarded with a "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing and potentially equipment. Once completed, the shrine will also serve as a fast travel point. Since completing shrines will make your character stronger and provide exploration footholds, it’s essential that you conquer them whenever possible. This page will provide a walkthrough for the "Sepapa Shrine" iconSepapa Shrine.

Head to this location on the map to find the Sepapa Shrine.

Where to Find Sepapa Shrine in Tears of The Kingdom

You’ll be able to find the Sepapa Shrine in Hyrule Forest Park, "Central Hyrule" iconCentral Hyrule (map marker) which is to the northeast of "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing. It can be easily reached by gliding down from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. Alternatively, you can cross the Boneyard Bridge, but you may have to deal with some "Bokoblin" iconBokoblins and "Moblin" iconMoblins along the way.

How to Open The Brazier Door in The Sepapa Shrine

The Puzzles within the Sepapa Shrine will focus around the "Recall" iconRecall and "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand Abilities, so when you enter the shrine you’ll notice a platform that is moving around a block. Here you’ll want to head up the stairs and wait for the platform to drop down, then step on it and use Recall and wait for it to lift you up to the second floor. In the next room you’ll notice a large pool of water with wooden platforms floating across. You’ll now want to pick up the nearby torch and equip it, then wait for the next wooden raft and jump on.

(1 of 3) Pick up the Torch

When you reach the lit torches in the distance you’ll want to strike it to light the torch in your hand. Jump onto the platform on the opposite side and strike the leaves to set them a lit and wait for the chest that contains "Strong Construct Bow" iconStrong Construct Bow to drop. Wait for the next raft to reach your location and jump onto it. Cast Recall and you’ll slowly return to the other side. However, make sure to relight your torch along the way. When you reach the surface you’ll want to light both of the braziers and the door will open.

How to Solve The Ball Puzzle in The Sepapa Shrine

(1 of 3) Grab the ball with Ultrahand

Head through, then make your way over to the right side of the room where you’ll find two holes and a ball. Here you’ll want to use Ultrahand to pick up the ball and place it into the first hole closest to you until a green light appears to open the second gate, then pick it up again and drop into the second hole to open the first gate. Go through the gate and look over towards the ball, then use Recall and wait for it to drop into the first hole before pressing L Joy-Con-L to stop. Finally, head through the second gate and interact with the altar to claim a Light of Blessing
