The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Kaneli’s Flight Training Walkthrough - Zelda Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

If you’re looking to improve your gliding skills, then you should head for the flight training course in the Herba Mountains. This location houses the old Rito leader Kaneli, and tasks you with gliding through hoops while riding a constant draft. It can be a little tricky to beat the flight range though. The guide below goes over where to find the flight range, and how to complete "Kaneli's Flight Training" iconKaneli’s Flight Training.

Speak with Kaneli at the flight course to start Kaneli’s Flight Training.

How to Complete Kaneli’s Flight Course

You will need to head into the Herba Mountains to find Kaneli. He is located to the west of Rospro Pass Skyview Tower at the Flight Range. Once there, you will see a small Rito building, go inside to see Kaneli. Speaking with him will start the side quest, Kaneli’s Flight Training. When you are ready to try your hand at the training, speak with Kaneli again and tell him you want to try the course. He will move you to the start of a bridge and a countdown begins.

Once you see start pop-up on the screen you have thirty seconds to pass through 15 hoops. While this seems easy at first, you can just fly above the hoops and drop straight down as Link will always be moving to the side. Instead, you must constantly position yourself so that you pass through each line of hoops. Due to this, it can take several tries to get to 15 hoops. The key is to drop through the first set of three directly in front of you, and then use your paraglider to fly up through the next set of two. Following this pattern will easily get you to 15, just be careful as getting too close to the rock in the center will cause Link to land on it.

(1 of 4) When you’re ready to try the course speak with Kaneli again.

Once you’re done, Kaneli will award you with a "Red Rupee" iconRed Rupee and the advanced flight course will unlock. From here on out, you need to pay 20 Rupees to try both courses, but if you succeed you will get your money back. The advanced course offers a way to earn up to 100 Rupees at a time but is trickier. Your goal here is to reach 35 rings, as the first time you do so, you will get 300 Rupees. Reaching 30 rings will get you 100 Rupees, so be sure to try it out. Using the Glide armor set can help you to gain the upper edge on the flight course.
