The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Looters South of Lindenvale

By
Nathan Garvin

Corpses draw more than just flies and necrophages, and the human parasites who feast on the dead can be more dangerous than any Ghoul. Far to the south of Lindenvale you’ll find a group of Looters who aren’t afraid to engage in violence if they feel like their source of profit is being threatened… or to create more corpses for looting. This page will cover a “Looters” even south of Lindenvale in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Quest Objectives

Starting Looters South of Lindenvale

Another one of Velen’s many “Looters” events, like most of its type it’s not listed in the quest log, and you’ll start it by simply stumbling across it as you explore. From Lindenvale, follow the road as it winds southeast and south towards the swamps at the southeastern edge of Velen. Alternatively you can find it by heading southwest from Dragonslayer’s Grotto, which is closer, but the trek from Lindenvale is safer, if that matters. You’ll pass several forks as you go, but you’ll encounter this quest after crossing a bridge, beyond which is a third fork.

Kill the Looters

This event is as simple and uninspired as they come. A group of Looters are… well… looting some corpses along the road, and at your approach they’ll warn you to stay back lest they pen your name in the dead-book. They’re not bluffing as far as their intentions go, and their numbers presumably make them brave enough to tangle with a Witcher. Ignore their warning and you’ll find yourself fighting around half a dozen Looters (Lv3), including one archer who is furthest south. Make him your priority, after which the rest of your foes are simple enough to dispatch, all being one-handed weapon users with no noteworthy armaments or abilities.

Make the archer a priority, (left), then dispatch the rest of the looters. (right)

Kill them and you can loot their corpses. Turnabout is fair play, after all. They don’t possess anything particularly interesting, nor do the corpses they were looting. There’s a house off the road to the southwest with a few containers you can plunder, but again, don’t expect anything particularly lucrative.

You’ve fully regained your memories since your miraculous revival and escape from the Wild Hunt, and have cleared your name of the false accusations of regicide. In the wake of the assassination of Foltest, king of Temeria, the north have been rent by warfare as Nilfgaard launches its third major invasion, and the northlands have been united under the insane king Radovid. Overshadowing these petty politics is the mysterious return of Ciri - Geralt’s adopted daughter, who is now being pursued by the Wild Hunt.
