The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 Next Gen Rewards

By
Paul McNally

As if you needed any extra incentives to come back to The Witcher 3 or even play it for the first time, CDPR is also giving away some free in-game rewards to players who sign up to the My Rewards scheme from the game’s new updated menu.

Yes you will have to hand over some of your personal data, but in exchange for that you will receive the following in-game items:

The Witcher 3 Rewards page is now live.

Witcher 3 Next Gen Rewards

There are four items up for grabs that yuo can get your hands on simply by following the Rewards sign-up process. They are:

  • Swords of the Nine-Tailed Vixen
  • White Tiger of the West Armor
  • Dol Blathanna Armor Set
  • Roach Card

The Next Gen Update has gone live and CDPR has revealed the process exactly of how to obtain the above items on its own rewards web page right here.

On Steam you simply seen to install the new update and log into your REDlauncher account. For your GWENT rewards you need to use the same account you use to play GWENT on your PC or mobile.

PlayStation and Xbox owners simply need to open MY REWARDS tab in the game’s menu and log into your account.

The huge update is free to all owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Witcher 3 Online Features

While we are on the subject of online extras, however, CDPR has also confirmed that your Witcher 3 saves will be automatically uploaded to the cloud and therefore cross-progression is possible if you own the game on multiple platforms. This will quite possibly be good news to a great number of players who may have picked it up on, say, the PC and Xbox or PlayStation over the years.

You will now be able to carry on your adventure in any room or location you have the ability to play in, and of course, it means your saves are safe should any disaster strike any of your hardware.

You will need to log into your account for the feature to be enabled - presumably the same account you may have just made to get your rewards, but once you have done that cross-progression provides the latest save for every save type. A nice Quality of Life addition to this great game.

It is also worth noting that existing save games certainly seem to be compatible with the Next Gen update.

Instructions for rewards on every platform are available.

Witcher 3 Next Gen Release Time

Here you can see what time The Witcher 3 Next Gen update will be available in your region.

We now have full information on what time the Next Gen Update will release globally. You can see what time you can download it on the official graphic above.

Is The Witcher 3 Next Gen Update Free?

Yes. The great news is that the Next Gen Update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is totally free if you already own a copy of the game on PC, Xbox or PlayStation. Most players already will, it has been around for over six years after all and has been on sale very cheaply on Steam on many occasions.

You are Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster-hunter known as a Witcher. You’ve fully regained your memories since your miraculous revival and escape from the Wild Hunt, and have cleared your name of the false accusations of regicide. In the wake of the assassination of Foltest, king of Temeria, the north have been rent by warfare as Nilfgaard launches its third major invasion, and the northlands have been united under the insane king Radovid. Overshadowing these petty politics is the mysterious return of Ciri - Geralt’s adopted daughter, who is now being pursued by the Wild Hunt.
