The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Ciri's Room

By
Nathan Garvin

During the main quest Ciri’s Story: The King of the Wolves you’ll play through what is effectively the "Bloody Baron" iconBloody Baron’s tale of how he came to meet Ciri. To get more info out of Velen’s despot, however, you’ll need to help him search for his family, the subject of the quest Family Matters. While the Bloody Baron might not be forthcoming with new information about Ciri, the same skills the Bloody Baron wants Geralt to use to find his family can also be used to find out a bit more about Ciri’s stay in "Crow's Perch" iconCrow’s Perch. This page will provide a walkthrough for the secondary quest "Ciri's Room" iconCiri’s Room in The Witcher 3.

Quest Objectives

Starting Ciri’s Room

The quest Ciri’s Room will begin immediately after "Ciri's Story: The King of the Wolves" iconCiri’s Story: The King of the Wolves ends, alongside Family Matters. The game expects you to advance "Family Matters" iconFamily Matters, but if you can’t be restrained you can just ignore the Bloody Baron and get right to searching Ciri’s room, if you wish. Her room is just down the hall northeast of the Bloody Baron’s chamber on the second floor of the castle in Crow’s Perch. Last door on the right - the storage chest inside should make it hard to miss.

Search Ciri’s Room

Enter Ciri’s room an activate your Witcher senses, then interact with the following objects:

  • The pile of clothes on the floor, which suggests Ciri left hastily.
  • The toy spinning top in the southeastern corner of the room, near the bed.
  • The tome "The Natural Obscurity of Curses" iconThe Natural Obscurity of Curses on the table, a rare for those with very specific concerns.

(1 of 3) Search the clothes strewn across the floor,

Talk to Gretka

Be sure to read the book to update the quest, whereupon you’ll next be instructed to talk to Gretka. Exit the room and enter the door across the hallway to find Gretka either sitting on a chair or mimicking swordplay with a toy sword. Birds of a feather, Ciri and this girl… Talk to her and she’ll easily identify you, after which you should pick the dialog option “What else did Ciri say?” which will open up more dialog options. Exhaust them and finish with “Found this toy in Ciri’s room.” to complete the quest, earning yourself a solid chunk of EXP, all things considered.

After searching Ciri’s room, head across the hall and talk to Gretka to gain more info and complete the quest.

Unfortunately Gretka didn’t know much, as should be expected of a child, and while Ciri left some tantalizing clues behind, she left no trail to follow. Looks like you’ll have to do the Bloody Baron’s bidding, after all… But at least you know Ciri is looking for a sorceress and has an interest in curses, although to what end and who his mysterious “friend” is remains a mystery.

You are Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster-hunter known as a Witcher. You’ve fully regained your memories since your miraculous revival and escape from the Wild Hunt, and have cleared your name of the false accusations of regicide. In the wake of the assassination of Foltest, king of Temeria, the north have been rent by warfare as Nilfgaard launches its third major invasion, and the northlands have been united under the insane king Radovid. Overshadowing these petty politics is the mysterious return of Ciri - Geralt’s adopted daughter, who is now being pursued by the Wild Hunt.
