Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Exploring the Great Sword's Base

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Chapter 5 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, exploring the Great Sword’s Base in the Cadensia Region.

Where to go at the Great Sword’s Base

(1 of 2) The area around the great sword is quite magical.

The area around the great sword is quite magical. (left), You’ll also be exploring the innards of the great sword too. (right)

Upon entering the Cadensia Region, you’ll begin at Sturc Gully Gate, towards the far south. Head north-east to discover the Headwater Camp, where you can rest up if needed. Either way, proceed north towards Bannis Path, which is a short passageway that connects to the next location. A bit further and you’ll trigger a brief cutscene, plus the introductory video for this area.

Once you’re back in control, continue north-east towards the next story marker, which is just after you reach the N’ohm Wetlands. Our heroes will receive a welcome party. Afterwards, Monica will temporarily join your party, as you follow Shania to a secret entrance. Basically, just keep going south-east for a while, then head north towards the base of the great sword. Also, as far as we can tell, you don’t actually need to wait for Shania to catch up with you.

When you arrive at the Swordface and get close enough to the massive sword itself, a cutscene will trigger, revealing the hidden entrance. In your own time, go through to reach the Great Sword Passage, then follow Shania/the linear passageway all the way north. Eventually, you’ll reach Fuller Elevator Landing, where you ascend further up the great sword.
