Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Exploring Ribbi Flats

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Chapter 3 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, covering Ribbi Flats in the Fornis Region.

Where to go in Ribbi Flats

(1 of 2) Ribbi Flats is mostly flat, but it has multiple levels.

Ribbi Flats is mostly flat, but it has multiple levels. (left), Halfway towards the story marker, you can rest at this camp. (right)

Upon arriving at Ribbi Flats, your next destination is the foot of Rae-Bel Tableland, which is further south. We suggest traveling south while following the east cliffside, going past the entrance to Dannagh Desert (although you’re more than welcome to poke around inside there).

After going past a skirmish in Sparres Barr, you should stumble upon Llyn Nyddwr Camp near a pond by the cliffside. This is a good place to rest and get your bearings.

Next, proceed south from the camp until you reach Magglia Lake. You’ll probably notice a shiny object in the center of the lake: an Odd Pointy Shard. Once you’ve scooped it up, go clockwise around the lakeside, following the slope and you’ll soon reach the next story marker.

(1 of 2) At Laprel Knoll, follow the dirt path west, then east after it bends.

At Laprel Knoll, follow the dirt path west, then east after it bends. (left), It’s tempting to jump down into Magglia Lake… (right)

When you regain control, proceed west along Laprel Knoll, following the dirt trail. After a while, the trail will u-bend. Keep on following the trail and, before long, you’ll reach Igno Viaduct, which is on the middle level. From here, carefully travel clock-wise around the massive gap overlooking Magglia Lake until you hit Elsie’s Sprout.

Beyond, there’s a network of vine-covered walls, but you cannot climb them yet. However there’s no time to worry. If you step near the nearby golden quest marker, you’ll trigger Valdi’s Hero Quest, The Kind Right Man.

Optional Areas

When you first arrive in Ribbi Flats, the entrance to Dannagh Desert is directly east, via the Great Idalla Ravine. Right now, there’s no reason to visit the desert and the enemies there are somewhat strong.

But if you’re a thrill-seeker or love to explore, take a look around if you want. Just try not to get too side-tracked; actually, nevermind, this game is all about getting side-tracked!
